A water drop can kill you if it hits you enough times. And I am more afraid of a water drop than your 160 pound teenage son!

And what?

Nothing. I am just telling you that between a droplet of water and your teenage son - I am more scared of the droplet of water! rofl.gif

My $$$ is on the Ukrainian kid.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Your experience won't matter. Can a reasonable man believe he could be severely injured in the circumstances as they developed on that night at that time and that place? Yes or no? Yes? Zimmerman walks.

Our youngest son is 5 feet 11" and about 160, maybe a little less, and the same age as Martin, he bench presses 200+ He could bash your head on the sidewalk and kill you or severely injure you with his bare hands.

A person would have to be supremely stupid to believe such 6' 160 lb teenager could NOT inflict severe bodily injury on any normal man. Of course he could. They will just have to find 12 supremely stupid people to unanimously agree that Zimmerman could not have been in fear of severe bodily injury.

Good luck. Oh, and the trial WILL BE in Florida. The state that elected the representatives and Senators that passed "Stand Your Ground" virtually unanimously. Good luck

Thats what TRIALS are for. I am confident in our system

You're right Gary, I witnessed a guy all of 5'6" beat the sh!t out of a guy that had to be at least 6'0+ and 200lbs. The smaller man cold cocked the bigger guy (he never saw it coming) and commenced literally stomping his face into the concrete.

Yes, 12 supremely stupid people can be found, I fear that could happen.

"The Marines I have seen around the world have the cleanest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen. Thank God for the United States Marine Corps!" - Eleanor Roosevelt, First Lady of the United States, 1945.

So then all the prosecutor has to do is convince 12 jurors that Zimmerman is just like you.

Right?

Right?

I wasn't commenting on Zimmerman. wacko.gif

I was responding to you saying your son could stomp my head into the concrete and kill me with his bare hands. rofl.gifheadbonk.gif

He would need to be hospitalized within 40 seconds and all I would use would be my right elbow, nothing else. whistling.gif

I'm not. I think this prosecutor did what she was told to do. I think she knows it will fail. I think it is impossible to find 12 people that stupid and get them in one room in one state. That there is 1 one of them here does not mean you can find 11 more, get them all selected on a jury and get them in the same room deliberating the same evidence. I contend it is impossible.

The fact is it DOES NOT MATTER if a given teenager could hurt a given adult (they can) it only matters that Zimmerman THOUGHT he was in danger. He makes that claim, the state has to prove otherwise. Under any given circumstance, ANY adult sized person COULD be reasonably believed to be ABLE to inflict severe bodily injury to ANY other adult sized person with their bare hands. To suggest otherwise requires suspending the use of a functioning brain.

What if you are a paranoid schizophrenic and you think everyone is out to get you. Can you go on a rampage and kill 15 people at a bar because they looked at you funny?

There is a line somewhere and this Zimmerman case is obviously around the edges of that line. The victim is the dead kid, not Zimmerman but seems the Tea Party people on this forum all think Zimmerman is the victim! rofl.gif

You are irrelevent. No one is going to debate what you are afraid of or what you can do with your elbow. No one cares

The point is ....Can the prosecution PROVE George Zimmerman was NOT in fear of severe bodily injury? THAT is what you have to prove.

HOW would you do that?

George Zimmerman has killed a man (teenager, whatever)

George Zimmerman says he feared that the man was going to cause him severe bodily injury

George Zimmerman killed the man and the man is not available to testify

George Zimmerman had injuries sustaining his statement he was being attacked.

Convince me that in his mind, he was NOT in fear of severe bodily injury. GO!

I do not play "what ifs" Go play that with someone else.

We are discussing the facts of this case, or at least some of us are, you are dicussing your left elbow or something. Actually we are discussing the facts of the law except you keep leaving out the "severe bodily injury part. Why? Why do you ignore that part of the law?

It has yet to be determined by our system who the victim is. I will be content with the result of our system. Either way. Will you?

I am not a Tea Party member but if they are the ones that support our legal system and you are not, then I am with them.

So, can we forget about gun control now? We should start banning drops of water. And right elbows.

Gary, you are the one bringing up your kids and how your youngest child can do leg lifts and lift dumbbells with the best of 'em.

I support our legal system but when a kid with candy and a pop is gunned down by a 30 year old madman and doesn't face charges then I start to question the way the law is written. In my opinion (yes, I know my opinion doesn't matter) Zimmerman should do at least 5 years even if he was attacked first and "suffered" a bump on his head and a boo-boo on his elbow. You can't just kill someone for a petty reason.

And if you are a wannabe officer of the law (neighborhood watchman) then you should be held to a higher standard. Don't ya think?
