Hi Everyone,

My Fiance filed the petition in January in Vermont and now we are just waiting. Finding it really hard being separated from him, getting a bit depressed at the wait.

Is there anyone from England waiting on the K-1 visa like me that wants to chat or share info?

Or is there anyone that has been through the process and can tell me what happens at the medical and what to expect at the interview?

I desperately want to speed up the process, so I can be with my fiance. I miss him so much.

hi emma, you're not alone. we also filed in january, are getting processed at vermont, and miss each other like crazy. i like to think we're approaching the halfway mark though, and a few more months before we've allowed to be together FOREVER is pretty amazing after 3 years of long distance craziness. which is not to say i don't have days/nights where i just wanna cry and scream about how unfair it all is! but mostly i've reached a kinda zen phase about it all - i'm focused on doing things to get ready for the interview, and even AOS. anyway i'll send you a private message with my email address if you wanna chat more personally there, but just wanted to say.. this too shall pass :)

Hi,

So nice to hear from other people going through it too. I would love to chat and share experiences! I too am focusing on getting everything ready for the interview. I haven't been with my fiance since the end of November, but he is coming to visit in 12 days!!! So excited!!! We have been going out for 2 and a half years, but have spent 11 months of that together in America ( at 3 months at a time on the vwp). Being apart for 5 months has been really tough.

Thanks for replying :-)

Hey Emma. I know how u feel. We filed beginning of February and I'm impatiently waiting for my NOA2... Going crazy over here and don't really know what to do about it :/

Hi,

I'm keeping busy by working lots and saving money! I won't be able to work for a while when I get to America, so figured I better save as much as I can! If you need to 'vent' your sadness I'm here, I feel it too. It's just a matter of waiting. I feel like my life has been put on hold and I just want to fast forward the next few months and be back in America with my love.

We filed end of December and yup, I know how you feel. The ups and downs are terrible but we at least have planning to occupy our minds, like the extra thousand bucks we're going to have to spend for the AOS once we're married. This thing sure does know how to bleed your wallet dry

Hi,

I'm trying to occupy myself with working hard and saving. It's an expensive process, but we will do anything for love!! Just wish it didn't have to take so long. What does the 'touch' mean on your timeline?

:)

Any time your case file is moved, brushed by the cleaners fat backside, or looked at it's scanned and an electronic update is made to the website (in theory) so quite literally any time the case is touched.

Don't use it as anything to rely on though, it really could be something as simple as the cleaner knocked it over, and some people don't get ANY whatsoever, whereas some people get loads. it's just a comfort thing really but it's clear that I'm one of the ones that isn't going to get any touches bar my first two I think!

Hi Emma! The waiting is so hard! I filed in November and these last couple of weeks the wait has become almost unbearable. For me it gets harder the closer it gets. It is hard watching petitions that were filed around the same time or after yours getting approved. Message me if u ever want to chat!

Emma,

Jodie and I filed and had an idea on the 6 months to approval and so on. It has been a pain being away from each other and you are gonna miss important things. We both weren't together for our birthdays but you have to remember the end goal. We were lucky that I was there when we got our approval so something else to celebrate. We weren't in a super hurray right after that to get our packet 3 info together as we knew we had time but if you need something to pass the time get those docs ready. Jodie has a folder put together that is kinda the "Look, the things I have to go through" badge of honor (without the U) and it is fun to laugh about on skype.

Some of the things we discussed:

The wedding but not discussing dates..... you just never know.

how much it is going to suck her getting used to the food and water

how much fun it will be us being in the Texas sun

Just find something that you can both do to pass the time, lucky for us we are both baddass Battlefield 3 players so we can get on skype or xbox live and just have fun.

Good luck in your journey.

Shawn

You need to register here https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/selectusertype.jsp and add your case number to it, you'll only see the date it was last updated, and that'll be the last time there was a 'touch' but there's no notification so to speak

This makes life a lot easier :) If you don't have an Xbox or a PS3 then WIndows Messenger has some games that you can play together like Solitaire Showdown or Jigsaw that are nice to pass the time with. Add in video chat and seeing, hearing and interacting with your other half takes some of the sting out of being apart.

We tried watching DVDs together but PAL DVDs (UK standard) run faster than the US ones so I'd have to pause once in a while to let Jess's DVD catch up to mine. It can make watching comedies slightly tricky :P

It is a long, slow process waiting on the NOA2 to arrive but every day is a step closer and when you look at how far you have both travelled along the path of being together its not as bad as it seems. Just remember that anyone can buy flowers and chocolates, it takes someone special to fill out government paperwork with :D
