RFE on AOS after 7 months at CSS

Advices and suggestions are welcomed please.

After close to 7 months at the CSS, I got an RFE on my adjustment of status.

They need an I-693 report of medical examination and vaccination record.

NOTE: A review of the record indicates that you entered the united states pursuant to a valid k-1/k-2 nonimmigrant visa. All USCIS records relating to you have been reviewed. The original US department of state medical forms DS-2053, DS-3024, DS-3025 and DS-3026 were not forwarded by the department of state. The record does contain a copy of the applicants immunization record, but original medical and vaccination records are required.

please submit a properly completed and signed form I-693, report of medical examination and vaccination record. The medical examination must be conducted by a physician who is on the list of civil surgeons approved by uscis.

All medical examination must be submitted in an unopened envelope that has been sealed by the civil surgeon.

*****The thing is that I had a medical examination and all the vaccination in London. Called the hospital in London and they say they dont give out medical reports to individuals and that everything is forwarded to the embassy.

Please I will be happy to know if anyone has similar situation and how it was solved. Thanks alot!!

Hmm, that's lame. They lost your medical. I would just get a new one and send it in. It should cost $200 or less. Good luck.

Please note that you need to have a USCIS - approved medical office to do the report. It may be possible that you need to do one here. Medical records are your personal information and should be given to you upon request. However, USCIS records cannot be sent opened to the individual or it will be rejected. It states that you need to sign the document which makes it impossible unless done in the US prior to sealing the envelop.

Maybe you can ask them to send the medical records to the civil surgeon you will be using in the US, after which you can complete and sign the document prior to it being sealed and delivered to you.

Thanks guys for your prompt replies. I think my best bet is get a new medical done. The London office wont give you your medical records and calling the embassy is one hell of a task. I will just see how much it costs doing a new medical with a uscis approved civil surgeon. Thank you once again.

It's not about signing any documents. Harpa gave the correct answer. It means they lost your medical. They got a copy of your immunizations (did you send a photocopy of DS-3025?) but without the originals of the whole medical and immunizations that were turned in at POE, they can't approve you. You're going to have to do it all over again...blood tests, exam, etc with a Civil Surgeon. From past experiences I know the Embassy does not keep any copies of your papers. I called Knightsbridge myself and they said they contract visa medicals for a 3rd party (embassy) so they forward all records to them and do not keep files like they would for their regular patients. Really sorry this happened to you.

I guess it still boils down to retaking the medical. Whether they lost it or not is not the issue. They need another one done. The individual needs to do so and submit it.

It's costing me $280 and I can't afford to take off work to travel to any of the other locations around here. I guess I should be grateful. $440 is ridiculous.

It is a pain to know that you're paying out of pocket for someone else's error. We did everything we were supposed to do and yet we still have to pay another few hundred dollars.
