Hi, I've been reading and researching on VJ for several months now. First and foremost, I want to give a big thanks to everybody on this site for all the guidance and advise that you all offer. Those of you that give so much of your time and knowledge are real saints to folks like me. I truly appreciate your contributions. This site has been such a great help and so informative that it's given me the confidence to DIY my K1 Visa petition. So after spending the last two weekends producing and assembling my petition packet I mailed it off this morning to the Texas Lockbox.

So now I start this visa journey that so many have done before me. I look forward to updating my timeline, continued reading, researching and generally sharing the experience.

March 15,2012 = received email from USCIS,that they got the packet

March 20,2012 = received email from USCIS for our NOA1,and they routed to VSC

June 28, 2012 = touch

October 03,2012 = F received RFE via text

Thanks everyone. I plan on keeping a calm head and just stay focused on the end goal. As everyone else probably has, I'm hoping for no RFE's but if any bumps come along the road we'll just deal with them and move on. I double checked and reviewed my documents more times than I could count. Finally when the package was complete and ready to send I sat it aside and decided to wait a few days before sending it. I did this just to get my head out of the "zone" I'd been in for weeks with this project. After the break I gave it one final review and damned if I didn't find an error! ha ha So I guess my advise as a newbie is to not rush it and take a breather every now and then. An extra day or two here and there is far less time lost than dealing with a RFE.

NOA1 email received Sunday, 04/08/12 at 22:45. I sent my package on Monday, 04/02/12 so it took just around one week! We're very happy!
