So a little perspective would be nice....you know, since you don't always agree with SCOTUS rulings.

I don't agree with all the Socialism they have allowed. Like I said before. When they strike the forced commerce down they will be OK with the single payer.

Do you personally agree with 'single-payer'? It is rather socialist after all.

No I don't.

My father was like you. Until he retired. Then he marveled at how fortunate he was to have the income from social security and the medical care paid for by Medicare! I would like to hear what you have to say when you are 70!

Well I save and work that I won't have either program to need. I have a very comfortable retirement coming without needing the programs. I also feel like I will have no choice but to accept I have to care for more lazy bums.

Medicare is single payer. Or at least it was. I do not quite understand the part B thing yet.

The problem with Obamacare and other plans such as that is that it leaves the insurance companies involved. While it is true that insurance company PROFITS are not a reason for high medical expenses, their PROFITS are not all that we pay for. Their PROFITS come AFTER we have paid all their costs and expenses, all their rent and payroll and utilities. They will have you believe that only the "profit" adds to the medical cost

I really do not favor the federal government getting involved, I prefer it being done at the state level as we have done here. But it seems a lot of states are dysfunctional, which is their right I suppose. Perhaps I am spoiled by a state where everyone is about an hours drive from the capital and the Governor keeps his office door open and my state Senator serves up the coffee at his General Store in the morning.

The only way I can see it working is a single payer plan. I also think it is inevitable this will happen. Particularly as the baby-boomers age out and get into the medicare age group as they are now beginning to do. Between medicare and medicaid there is going to be more than 50% of the population on government health care soon anyway, and when that happens it is all over but the shoutin'

I agree. I don't want the Feds at all myself. I am a state guy that says let the citizens in the state decide if they want single payer. Feds keep away.

The last thing we need though is a total socialized health care while at the same time waging perpetual war on the rest of the world. Something has to give here.
