Hi,

I am new here. Can anyone point me to the guidelines and procedures on how to go about with the f4 application. Here is my status:

I have sent already my packet 3 which included a handful of documents like certificates of marriage, nbi, birth cert, etc. I have sent this July 2011. Up to now there is no correspondence from NVC yet as to the status of my case. On my own, I am finding additional information on what is needed and what things I have to do now because it's been a while I have not gotten anything about my application.

I have read somewhere Affidavit of Support is needed however its not part of the PACKET 3 list of requirements? Is this what could be holding my application up?

Anyone who can point me to the right direction please...

Thank you so much...

what's your priority date, when did your sibling file for you? what did you pay, the $88 and the $404?

20 years ago by the sound of it.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Priority Date: June 26,1990.

My Sibling/Petitioner paid for the Affidavit of Support (AOS) Processing Fee Bill of $88.

For the $404, I paid for it myself via bank draft.

Unfortunately VB retrogressed in Jan 2010 so VB for F4 is back to Jan 8, 1989. You have to wait again for your PD to be current. :(

VB is the Visa Bulletin, your priority date has to appear on the Visa Bulletin again for your priority date to be currnt.

where can i see the pd that is current today? how often the pd becomes current? any notification that I can get?

Can't give you a link now but just type 'April 2012 visa bulletin' in any search engine. Read everything on the 'travel state's' webpage and you should find out where the bulletin is now and how you can get notifications every month for an update.

Ideally your PD should become current once but everytime the demand for immigrant visas is much more than supply, a retrogression will happen. This means that you may be current now but in the next month's bulletin there is a roll back in dates and you may have to wait (a few months to years) to become current again.

As mentioned above, VP is Visa Bulletin, which normally posted the last, current, and next month family and employment based immigrant visa processing of priority dates(PD). Also as mentioned above by Harpa, the PD for the Philippines for April this year is Jan. 8, 1989, which is much better for your PD, because the PD that are being processed for March 2012 is actually Dec. 22, 1988. Again, based on April 2012 VB, you probably have a little less than a year and a half before your PD will be current for processing.

You can check your PD by just looking at the latest VB on different sites which will lead you to the US Travel.State.Gov website and just look for the VB section or just go to the site directly. You can also check at the US Embassy Manila website on its VB section or the easiest way for me is just to Google Visa Bulletin for the current or the next month VB. Easy peasy nice and easy.

Does it mean, that because I have already submit Packet 3,once my PD is current then automatic/instantly they will send me my packet 4? or do i need to do anything to get packet 4 aside from waiting for my PD to be current?

Also can i go for medical now so that when my PD comes current, I can go for interview right away?

can you tell me what am I to do once my PD becomes current? Because my last action was to submit Packet 3 which was 8 months back and I never heard anything from NVC then on. I am afraid because I read that if there is no correspondence for a year, the visa application is terminated..

my suspicion for the no reply/action from NVC after I sent packet 3 is because my PD is not current, is it correct?

You can send email NVC on how is now the status of your case cause as what you have said that you are the one pays the IV Fee via bank draft you should at least know if they have recieved it or not and then you will find out if you are documentarily qualified already means that no more problems with regards to suporting documents...here's the link for monthly Visa Bulletin http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/bulletin/bulletin_5674.html

Once your PD is current for processing, the NVC will let you know what you need to send and when to send them. Again, you have to wait for your PD to be current in order to get your medical. You will have to wait until you receive a letter telling you when and where to take your medical exam. The letter usually contains the exact date and time for your appointment to take your medical examination at a specific medical facility and your appointment for your visa interview at the embassy. Medical examination and interview appointments are usually done a couple or more weeks apart from each other. Your medical has to be current before an interview. They decide when and where you can take your medical exams and not before.
