Hello guys,

I am kind of worried about the time it is taking to process my I130. I have been reading other posts and it looks like some folks here had their applications sent out in Jan and already have a approval. How is that possible? My priority date is sep 14th and any guesses on when it might be approved?

2011/04/22 got married

2011/09/10 Mailed I-130

2011/09/16 Received NOA1 in mail

2011/09/14 Priority date on letter

2012/04/06 Received NOA2 text/email(thank god!!)

2012/04/23 Received by NVC

2012/05/09 Case # assigned

2012/05/10 AOS Fee Paid

2012/05/11 AOS Packet sent

2012/05/15 DS3032 email accepted

2012/05/15 IV bill generated

2012/05/15 IV bill paid

2012/05/17 IV Packet sent

2012/05/21 IV AOS Packet received & processed

Hello guys,

I am kind of worried about the time it is taking to process my I130. I have been reading other posts and it looks like some folks here had their applications sent out in Jan and already have a approval. How is that possible? My priority date is sep 14th and any guesses on when it might be approved?

There is no rhyme or reason to who gets processed when. At least I don't think so. Someone said that the service centers have the majority of their processors working on the applications per priority date (on a first come first served basis) but that they have a few processors whose work is to process newly submitted apps. So I guess ours are being processed by the former group of processors.

I hit 6 months yesterday, still waiting for NOA2.

Use this as a guide to help you while you wait

As a USC you have a leg up on us LPRs who filed I-130s also as you get to be processed ahead of us...

Anyone who had their I-130 processed when they only filed in Jan 2012 is likely the beneficiary of an expedite - military or health related.

moral of the story - dont worry.

EDIT: Please update your profile to show your timeline.... and also that date you gave is your NOA1 date - as a USC you dont have a prority date per se....

Case upgraded by NVC from F2A to CR1 April 19 2013

Interview June 6th 2013 - APPROVED - case upgraded to IR1 at time of interview based on time married

Visa in hand June 10th 2013

IV fee paid using ELIS June 17th 2013

POE Houston July 15th 2013

GC arrived in mail Aug 12th 2013

SSN card arrived in mail Aug 19 2013 (1 week after applying)

If they process by date received generally speaking then why do some people get held up? (ie; a lot of July filers even though USCIS is in August now)

5/15/12: RFE (daughter's birth cert)

8/13/12: NOA2

8/31/12: Case #/IIN Received

8/31/12: DS3032 Sent

Jul 15/11 - Sent I-130 Package from Honolulu

Jul 18/11 - I-130 package received & signed for in Chicago
Jul 19/11 - Priority Date
Jul 21/11 - NOA1/USCIS Acceptance Confirmation received
Jul 29/11 - Received I-797C hard copy
Aug 4/11 - Touched
Feb 16/12 - NOA2 Approval (212 days since Priority Date)

Feb 28/12 - NVC Case Number, BIN & IIN Assigned, Optin E-mail for EP Sent

Mar 2/12 - DS-261 Submitted
Mar 5/12 - Electronic Processing Opt-in Accepted, AOS Invoiced & Paid
Mar 7/12 - NVC receive IV electronic package, AOS shows "Paid", AOS Package Sent
