Make sure she check her baggage to LAX - she needs to pick it up there. If her baggage is checked straight to Miami she won't be able to leave the airport (security measures). This has happened to me in the past !!!

Really? I used to work for an airline and the bag gets checked through to the final destination on the ticket. Not sure what security issues there would be.

02/24/2012-UK settlement visas issued

Never received packet 3 although it was mailed to us on May 29th

07/17/2013-Sent off packet 3 after finally getting ALL our documents together

08/19/2013-Medical scheduled (there were earlier appointments but unfortunately, we couldn't get there for them due to hubby's work)

09/24/2013-Interview APPROVED

11/01/2013-POE BOSTON

01/13/2014-10 Year green card received

03/09/2019- Sent I-130 to Chicago lock box for step-son

03/20/2019- NOA 1

She can leave the airport with her bags and just drop them off before her next flight.. no need to re check them!! I did this when traveling from Vzla to phx with a lay over in MIA

Mar 2011 - After 5mths denied for lost docs - Attempts to follow up failed. Mar 18 2012 - I-129F sent - No sign of NOA1 but they have banked the check...Jul 24 - Update - USCIS has located our file
Infopass Apt - they sorted through everything - our 2011 and 2012 file keep getting mixed up - getting us a Case# (still waiting) Dec- Infopass Appt- expecting to get a case # in about a week ..Still no Case number
Mar 2013 Infopass - advised file was in a box somewhere,and it would be quicker for us to refile. Life gets in the way... New petition submitted July 2014 .

She can choose to check them through to just LA and then recheck them when she comes back to the airport, or she can have them ticketed all the way to Miami. Regardless, she will have to pick them up at customs in LA. The only reason for having them checked only to LA is that she would want to take them with her when she leaves the airport. Since she is planning to be in LA for so long and leave the airport, she may want to have all her luggage with her at your relatives house. The only advantage I see to checking them to Miami is that once she drops off her baggage as part of customs, she doesn't have to worry about hurrying back to the airport and waiting in a baggage line for her Miami flight. Have a happy reunion!

After immigration at LAX she will have to carry her bags through customs. She then heads back to the airline desk to re-check the bags for the connecting flight.

Our journey together on this earth has come to an end.

I will see you one day again, my love.
