I am planning a visit to meet my fiance's family. We are right around the 4 month mark awaiting our NOA2 for our K-1. We are thinking about getting married while I am there. We love each other and we would like for his family to be a part of that since he will be living in the States with me. Anyways, we are wanting to know if getting married will prolong the visa process? Will we have to start over and submit for a marraige visa? What are your recommendations? Also, I would like to know if the marriage will be valid in the U.S. and how will I go about that. I am completely clueless. All help is appreciated. Thank you guys.

if you marry, then the visa is invalid, there is no visa. you will be married. you would have to return and file the i130 for the CR1. of coures the marriage will be valid, that's why the petititon will be annulled and voided. the K1 is to marry in the US, if you marry, then there is no use for the K!.

you'll start over with the i130 for him to go through consular processing.

A legal marriage is a legal marriage. If you get married its valid in the USA.

You waste your K-1 you go home to the USA alone and file and pay more money for a spousal petition and you start from the bottom of the pile with a year long wait ahead of you.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Good decision.

Why not have a delayed honeymoon after AOS is approved and have a ceremonial blessing and/ or reception in his home country?
