Will prior abandoned process for ex and his kids affect my current petition for my natural born son?

How do you know he didn't try and claim VAWA?

Wow, you are assuming that I abused him and his sons? Where the heck did you pull that from? As I understand it, VAWA (Violence Against Womens Act) I think has to have documented cases of Abuse (police reports, witness accounts etc). And I can tell you for sure that I am not that kind of person.

Vanessa&Tony was not assuming that you abused your husband and his sons. Read the many stories on this forum about con artists who marry US citizens, come to the US, leave because they were never in love, and then FALSELY claim abuse to obtain green cards under the VAWA.

Ok. I apologize to Vanessa&Tony. I had no idea people can do that.

Yeah it's totally despicable that they can or even WANT to. Some people get their friends/family members to hit them or scratch them and then call police (one woman had her daughter do it). One story I remember the woman accused him on a certain date and when he went to court for it he showed proof he was in a totally different location. There's a story in Effects at the moment where the guy found out his wife is having her friends write letters saying they witnessed the abuse (on the attorneys advice). Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes you'll get a police record sometimes you won't. I understand the purpose of VAWA but the many who abuse it can ruin a USC's life.

Anyway I wasn't accusing you and honestly it doesn't REALLY matter (in regards to your sons visa) because you didn't complete an I-864 (I said I wasn't sure about what a K3/K4 needs) but either way don't assume they're here illegally. Same with people who enter on K1 visas (where AOS is needed). You'll never be told that they've claimed VAWA because as the "abuser" they won't tell you. Ridiculous hey!
