All of my frequent travel to see my fiance has motivated me to look for perks from all the flights, hotels, and restaurants.

Just recently I got a Chase Sapphire Preferred card and it has been wonderful. You get double points on everything related to travel including flights, hotels, dining, car rentals, etc...

My points have been racking up pretty fast. I should have enough points soon to cover one of my future trips to India.

I also signed up for Flying Rewards, which is Air India's frequent flyer miles program.

I'm just curious what everyone else does to get the most out of the all the traveling we are compelled to do to see our loved ones.

I am the petitioner.

Nobody likes travel perks??? :(

FYI, mypoints, com is another great incentive rewards websites and no purchases are necessary to earn points. Once you have enough points you can also redeem them for gift cards, including travel-related gift cards such as Marriott, Hyatt, Southwest, and United to name a few.

Hey in this economy we deserve to get more bang for our buck!

I love Chase Sapphire. But I have the no annual fee card, the preferred has a fee, right? Chase Freedom is good too...

Another decent one but kinda a rip off is the Amex Gold card. It's $175 a year but they gave me 50,000 points up front which is $500....No credit limit. I will probably cancel it within a year...

The Chase Sapphire Preferred has no annual fee for the first year and they give you a bonus of 50,000 points (which is $625 when used towards travel!) if you spend $3,000 within the first 3 months. Plus the great thing about it on top of that is that there are no foreign transaction fees when used abroad. The annual fee is a bit of a bummer though at $95.

Hey, I applied for the Chase Sapphire Preferred and got the "We will contact you with a decision" notice on the internet. Assumed I was denied.

I have a Chase Freedom so about a week ago I logged into my account and saw the Sapphire preferred listed on the account....$5,000 credit limit

Came in the mail a few days ago. kicking.gif

American Express gold Delta skymiles card. Company pays the $95 annual fee and I keep the miles. I took six free skymiles trips to the Philippines during our K1 process. Most notable was when they routed me through Hawaii, and I was the only first class passenger on Hawaiian air from Honolulu to Manila.

How often do you fly to earn enough sky miles to be able to take 6 free trips to the Philippines?

Unused miles can be donated to various charities. Google it.

I just thought I'd throw that in.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Does anyone know how many frequent flyer miles you have to earn before it's worthwhile to use them on a flight?

I think this will depend on the airline and where you want to go - I have found that United "saver" awards for less miles are hard to come by yet they claim they have award seats on every flight, which is true but you need a lot more miles than it's worth to get those seats.

I have a lot better luck getting award seats on BA, but they have higher fees to use them.

I like saving my miles for upgrades on long flights - especially upgrading to business class on BA for the 11 hour flight to London

Hmmmm, upgrades. Now there's an idea. It would be wonderful to upgrade to business class on the long flight from New York to New Delhi.

I never get any sleep in economy class.
