RFE hardcopy arrived today!

Hi guys,

Today I got RFE for three items(2 of which I already sent them):

-Letters of Intent to marry(I used the form letter from the vj guide). The only thing that they could have a problem with is that the date is typed vs. written underneath signatures.

-Requirement that we met: boarding passes(sent,but don't have year on them, just month and day), film-dated photographs of us together(sent photos but aren't film-dated photographs and can't get them), passport with stamps(sent), don't have anything else

-Copies of beneficiary's paassport, all pages(with or without stamps) including identification page.

Except for my fiance's passport, I sent all of this in original packet and yet they are asking for it again!!!!!!!!!!!!

the instructions state it must be "original" letter of intent to marry. don't know what a "form" letter is, but if they have seen it before perhaps it is not so "original" in their eyes. try starting with blank sheet of paper.

per evidence of meeting, in addition to photos, include bank statements with withdraw made at time and place of meeting, email confirming travel, and as well proof of paying for such travel, ie credit card. how about where did you stay, receipt for hotel, or payment to hotel on credit card in her city? just suggestions.

Since you were supposedto make an exact copy of what you sent. Just verify it with this.

1. Payment of $340 for I-129F (Money Order is best) True funds.

2. Cover Letter

3. Form I-129F (original signature)

4. How you two met in person in the last two years. (see note below)

5. Original statements of letter of intent from the both of you; original signatures.

7. G-325A for both of you, typed but signed and dated with blue or black ink. (you can put typed date, but signature has to be true)

8. Passport Photo placed in small plastic sandwichbag and stapled on the back of the G-325A.

9. Copy of Birth Certificate for US citizen

10. Copy of Final Divorce Decree if applicable.

I don'tsee a G-325A in your list…

A typed date is fine as long as you have a signed signature.

Documents proving you have met in last two years:

Copies of all airline boarding passes, train passes, itineraries, hotelreceipts, passport stamps (make sure you can read the dates on the stamps), andother documentary evidence that you have met within the last two years. You maywant to highlight or place post-it notes indicating the dates and locations onthe copies (to make the adjudication easier) for the person reviewing your file.

The following items will not typically show proof of having met in thelast two years however will show proof of an ongoing relationship: Copies ofphone bills, cell phone bills, emails (you can editpersonal info with a marker), letters (editpersonal info also), stamps on theletters (to document thedate they were sent), and otherwritten documentary proof. Provide a reasonable amount; two to four of eachtype. Pick a range of dates up to and including the present. You can alsoinclude a copy of engagement ring receipt (thisis something that is a big optional - do not worry if you do not have a ringyet!)

Also, isn't the beneficiary your fiancee? (you are petitioner) Perhaps they want additional info to include both parties passport??

I think they lost your documents, period.

It is not a requirement to send the beneficiary's passport all pages. Only if you have stamps in there that you want to use as evidence of having met.

It seems like the OP already sent the passport pages with stamps, that's primary evidence. So why do they ask for more evidences?!!?

Seriously, it seems like someone at USCIS service center is just trying to be pain in the a....

The form letters on here are perfectly fine. That is not the problem. Everybody uses those including me and I was approved. You made a mistake somewhere or the person reviewing your petittion made a mistake. We signed in black ink too (a mistake, you should use blue) but it went through just fine.

Everybody is new to this process and I have seen people claim they got denied or got an RFE for one reason or the other and it turns out to be something completely different. If you got an RFE, just take your time and return everything they are asking for but I can assure you the typed written letter like the one on VisaJourney has been used one thousand times and works just fine.

The Dominican Republic is a high fraud country and I think they really make sure you visit your fiancee a lot since it is so close to the US. I wish my fiancee was closer, I would visit her once every few months.

I just got a text for an RFE today and have yet to receive the hardcopy so I have no clue what they want. I went OCD with the collectionof docs so I know I put everything in there. The only thing I'm thinking that may have generated the RFE is the Letter of intent to marry since it was dated over 30 days of theirreceipt. Letters were dated 10/02/11 and they got them 11/14/11. The same with the G325A.

What I don't understand though is why they are asking for the beneficiary's passport when nowhere in the I-129F was it ever mentioned. But I guess if they asked for it, you must provide it to get pass this stage. I tellya though, RFE's causes delay but I'm glad to have received them now than 2 or 3 months from now so I still feel this is some sort of a good thing.

No, I didn't request an expedition. Was shocked as heck to hear from them this quickly!

I think I get why they want his(beneficiary) passport. He is a Haitian citizen but a resident of DR. To them I have to prove that we were together in DR at the same time(in the last 2 years, of course) since his citizenship is in Haiti. I just assumed since I gave them his DR address on the petition that would be enough.

Anyway, will send what they ask for ASAP! and start the waiting all over again

I would stay away from manila. don't ever over stay they will treat you like a criminal until you produce a lot of PHP to the Philippine Immigration.

The immigration knew I was staying 2 months at entry but never said anything to me about it, just let me through. I went to Philippine immigration and becuase of staying over 5 days, i had to get an I ACR and pay out the butt for 2 months.

Next time if I ever go back, I want to go to Bacolod, Iloilo, and Cebu... steer clear of Manila. Just so crazy there.

I understand what you're saying. I wasn't dissing the form letter, just questioning why I would need another. I didn't know I had to use blue ink. Now that I know we should have used blue ink for signature and date, no problem!

As far as visiting more often, I wish I could. What's a lot? I think 3 visits in one year should suffice because work/costs don't allow for more frequent visits.

Did you BOTH sign a letter of intent? It has to be 2 separate letters one signed and date by you, the other signed and dated by your fiance.

Just double checking because you haven't referred to the Letter of Intent as being plural.
