Hi all :)

Recently my fiance and I have been compiling the packet three information that I need from him to take to my interview at the US consulate in Sydney, Aus, only thing is it looks like he has misplaced the NOA2 approval hard copy he was sent back in December.

He has turned the whole house upside down and even paid a house cleaner to come reorganize the house in the hopes of finding it. He feels awful and we are really worried about not including it in our packet three when i send it off.

Anyone experienced this and have any ideas? He hasn't called about getting a copy sent out, nor do we know if USCIS even do that, we were still holding out hope that it would turn up. We will be calling to see, but I figured I'd post here to see if anyone had had a similar thing happen.

Thankyou all

Nothing to worry about. NOA2 is just a Notice of Action. You don't need for the interview. Good luck!

I know this doesn't help now but it could for the future.

Anything important I have it scanned into the computer system and backed up on a USB drive for those just incase situations.

You won't need the NOA2 for the interview, but you will need it after you arrive in the US and apply to Adjust Status. You need to submit it with the I-485 application to prove your eligibility to adjust status from an I-129f petition/K-1 visa entry.

So, if your fiance is not able to find the NOA2 he will need to request a copy of it. Unfortunately, copies are very expensive so hopefully he will find it. Good luck at the interview.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Uscis will indeed send out a copy if it's requested. It comes with a 405 dollars price tag attached to it. One thing is that your original NOA2 went hiding somewhere. Did your fiance make a copy of it before?, scanned it maybe. They need a copy of it at AOS as Kathryn41 mentioned but it's only the copy of it they need.
