Lucky that i called, although how expensive it is it would not surprise me if they do not send it out on purpose so they know you will call them.

 , talk about revenue generation!

Sorry forgot to ask as well before sending out my forms, are the passport pictures meant to be attached to the form DS-156? I attached mine, wondering now whether I should have  . Oh well, guess I can take extra copies on the interview day itself

jenni and i have been sharing the costs of this process and today she paid the visa interview fee and i have just got the MRV fee receipt in my email. at the top it says "you are required to print this receipt, have the credit cardholder sign the acknowledgement below and submit it...". at the bottom it says "applicant must read and sign below" and then "applicant signature...".

obviously in this case the "credit cardholder" and the "applicant" are 2 different people so who signs it?? im guessing i should sign it??

Hi, I'm seeking an answer to the prior post above but can't seem to find it. If I (US Pet) called an paid the MRV fee and now we have the PDF receipt, and he is the applicant who signs, do I need to sign at all? This is confusing and don't want to send him off without the signature if it's needed.

Thanks!

I'm the petitioner and paid the visa fee, too. I didn't sign it as there wasn't a place for the cardholder. Not sure if the document has changed since Dan & Jenni paid, but there's no mention anywhere on the PDF or in the email of having the cardholder signing the document. There's just a space for the applicant to sign.

Yeah I guess so about the confusion, I just left it as I didn't want to seem to be dragging it with him.

About the logging of dates, sorry I meant how do you find out these dates? from a US website or through phone calls? We called NVC and learnt they had received and sent out my case file to London already, but they didn't specify when they received it, same with US embassy London, they just informed I had been logged on their system. should I have been more specific in asking for dates they received, logged and sent out my file from these different places? Everyone seems to have a grip on specific dates and stages their cases pass through from NOA2 through to the Interview, except me

On finding out the dates, yes, by calling the NVC, we learned when the petition left and was headed to London. Once you know the date it was sent, you can track it via DHL's website and learn when it was signed for in London. Then, once the DS forms are mailed by the beneficiary, that's another date. You can learn when they've actually been logged into the embassy system by calling the Dept. of State line.

Hi everyone, is it possible that since my wedding date isn't until December 7th, that we are waiting longer to hear back about our interview date? Our packet was logged and marked "interview eligible" about a month ago (Sept 20), and we haven't heard anything. I'm only asking because I noticed that people who sent their packet 3 after us have already been given their interview date. :)

That's a possibility. Have you called the DOS line since they confirmed your forms were logged? Did you state in the cover letter that you'd be available for a short-notice appointment?

I have called since then, but it's always the same thing "interview eligible, packet 4 hasn't been sent". I did not put the short-notice thing, and only thought about it after reading how everyone else did haha. I just hope he gets home by Decemeber 7th!

Meanwhile, my fiancé received a letter from the Embassy today pushing up his interview time from 9AM to 8AM...same day, though.

That's kinda strange since they don't really call people by appointment times and people tend to come very early anyway. Maybe they don't realize that because they aren't outside.

Exactly. He's taking the train up and will arrive in London around 6:50AM. He'll need to wait for Gould's to open at 7:30AM, but he'll be in line by 7:40AM.

We were just puzzled on receiving a second letter, especially since the only thing that changed was the time and it wasn't initiated by anything we did. I'm just happy the date hasn't changed as I'm already an impatient person. I cannot deal with the stress much longer and my fingernails are suffering for it.
