Thank you, I did just that. They will have someone look into it. I will call back later today. Also, I think I know where the confusion is. She is an Egyptian national with an Egyptian birth certificate, but she was born in Saudi Arabia. The birth certificate for Egypt states that she was born in Saudi Arabia, which is fine. I never thought about this till now. :S...not sure what to do!

My husband was born in Saudi and he has an Egyptian birth cert from when he was 2 months old.

We did not have a problem with it.

He had it stamped and official--whatever that meant.

When I called them they say it has to come from the "Government Registrar of Marriages from India" Whaat!? What do they mean? We got it from our state registrar's office. I can't beleive this.

We got the same check list request. The Marriage Certificate. Of course, we sent it with the application... and just last week had to do it again.... Same exact document. We are hoping they like this one! :bonk:

We are so ''done' with incompetency and being held "captive" by this process :help:

And the journey begins!

This means you're very close to a case complete!

As for the wait time between case complete and interview date scheduled, I don't know the times for Nigeria. Timelines are your friend :) Have some fun and look at fellow Nigerian timelines to get an estimate. That's exactly what I did while waiting for my case complete for Canada. Even made a spreadsheet out of it :D

So I know from reading on this forum that there was a serious backlog over at NVC as far as issuing case numbers this past summer... does anybody have a sense for whether they've caught up?

My I-130 was approved by USCIS on Feb 16th, and when I called and spoke to an operator at NVC today, they told me they had received my file but not "entered it into the system yet", by which I assume she meant it doesn't yet have a case number. Based on recent trends, is this the type of thing I should expect to get in the next few days, or is it likely to take a few weeks?

Just curious! :D

Yeah, starting last summer, it went up to taking 4+ weeks to get a case number from NOA2. In the last month or so, it's been reduced to about 1-2 weeks. So you should get your case number next week :)

Looking at the reciprocity table on NVC's site for India, it does mention getting the marriage certificate from the Government Registrar of Marriages...

NVC wrote me guys they told me our doucment has been reviewed ( IV package). The subject of the mail is " checklist ( cover letter). What does this mean? In the email they told me to sumit required document.

- financial evidence ( AOS)

- IV fee bill

For the IV bill we re submitted it thursday, february 23rd. Friday, feb 24th the portal showed paid but the bank told us no money was withdrawn from the account. Why u guys think they still asking for the fee. We are not responsible if their system haven t not yet taken the money from the account. According to you guys, don't u think if we were supposed to receive a RFE regarding the IV package they would send it as well in the email? Should we we happy for no RFE for IV package?

You have to keep in mind, emails are generated hours before. It takes awhile for the system to actually email you. It was probably generated before you paid, or before the payment was processed. This is just a false checklist.

And yes, if there was something missing from the IV package, then you would have received it. Getting the false checklist means that they reviewed your IV package. Call on Monday to confirm with an operator that the package was accepted.

Ok thank you so much my friend. I still have a concern. My wife job main office scanned her letter of employment and emailed it to her. We were hoping to receive it in the mail as previously informed, but that is not what happened. Can we print it and send it to NVC, will they take scanner letter of employment into account?
