oh yeah - - passport book is here, but that doesn't mean I'm done...............

there are still two more pieces of mail to come: the passport card and my CoN.

I hate the waiting game. Waiting is definitely the worst part of this entire VisaJourney.

After having the passport card for almost four year, I would like to give you guys some advice.

I carried the card in my wallet, and it comes with protective cover which inside, its covered with a material to make sure no one can steal your identity from the card electronically. Those stuff will rub against the card over time and make it messy.

I would suggest you to cover it with (fedex envelop, has a nice paper) and then place it in that protective envelope. Just saying...

For those who are applying for passport and would like to take their own photo, you could place it in this website (Government website) to crop it the right way.

I used this website to crop my US passport photos - and also my German passport photos.

http://www.epassportphoto.com/

I like the fact that it works for many different countries and has all those different requirements stored on the website.

Received my CoN by priority mail and the passport card by ordinary first class mail. Both arrived today.

I was worried about the CoN, but it came safe and intact with no folds or creases. Now I need to go to the Social Security office and the DMV to update my records.

Will expedited process assure a quicker return of the CoN as well?

Yes, I would assume so. Check with huniebee. She is the one who used expedited processing in our thread.

Hi everyone,

Just received my wonderful good looking passport today, lol. And they sent it together with my CON in the same envelope as priority mail.

So I can finally relax now,

I want to thank everybody for their support, and I wish all of the rest the best of luck.

thank you Jemmi, I know - this whole entire process is just an exercise in patience :innocent:

after well over 6 years of exercises, though, I'm simply worn out and want to be done with it.

BTW - there is a process for replacing a lost CoN. It costs $340 and takes 6 months

I applied for my US passport book at a post office in downtown Chicago on 03/15/12 with routine service and regular shipping method. I received my passport book on 04/05/12 and the CoN today (04/07/12). I was able to check my status on the State Department website only one day before I actually received the passport book. Because I live in downtown Chicago, it seems like the delivery time of all my documents only take a day from the Kluczynski Federal Office (where both of the passport and the CoN were shipped) to my place. Good luck to those of you who are still waiting.
