Hi All, I am brand new to this forum - however would like to say that the site has helped my fiance and I a lot! First of all I am in the UK and my fiance is an American - we met last year at a Yankee Game and the rest is well history!! So we sorted out the paperwork and we got the first notice back in December (the end) and now I keep checking the status and all it ever states is Initial Review - is this normal. We are so desperate to get things moving as he is in the Military and will be based at a new station in May/June time - what do you think the actual timeline is going to be - am I getting my hopes up to be thinking it will be soon? Thank you :)

Congrats on your engagement!!

First you need to edit your timeline thru your profile to show the date you sent 129 and the date you got NOA1

Also add BENEFICIARYS COUNTRY

After you do that you can look at your profile and it will tell you when you can expect NOA2....right now it is a long wait for most. They are processing like august or something.

Good Luck

Read the guides at the top for fiance visa so you get more informed over this processes

you will not be here quick. anything in immigration takes a long time

6 months minimum to 1 year

some people wait for their NOA2 for 11 months or 1 year and some people get lucky and get it in 1 month

Is he going to be deployed soon? Does he have deployment orders? Sometimes that will get you an expedited petition approval????

May 24, 2011 NOA1

Sept 11, 2011 NOA2-took 19 days to get case number

Sept 30, 2011 NVC number and IIN received Friday-gotta wait till Monday

Oct 13, 2011 Case Completed- 13 days from receiving case number Took 32 days from NOA2

Nov 30, 2011 Notified of Interview date

January 19, 2012 Interview- 240 days from NOA1

INTERVIEW RESULTS-APPROVED WITH 14 WEEKS AP--but he got his visa in 56 days!!!!!!

PLEASE EDIT YOUR TIMELINE IN YOUR PROFILE SO OTHERS CAN LEARN HOW LONG EACH STEP TAKES IN THIS PROCESS

ok good job

now do you see at the bottom where it states you will get your NOA2 somewhere between

Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between April 21, 2012 and May 8, 2012

That is just an average based on the members timelines here. So some get it early and some get it late and most get it during that time. But that timeline will change. As soon as people start getting approvals quicker then yours will change to show the new average. or if people are taking longer then your timeline will adjust to a later date to show the average of VJ members.

Good Luck

I hope it is much quicker for you!!

Try getting familiar with the site here on VJ

I checked under immigration timelines at the top and I search all fiance visa for the UK

http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list.php?op6=All&op7=United+Kingdom&op1=&op2=&op3=1&op4=1&op5=5%2C6%2C8%2C10%2C11%2C13%2C14%2C15%2C16%2C17%2C18%2C20%2C21%2C22%2C25%2C26%2C27%2C28%2C108%2C110%2C111%2C208%2C210%2C211&cfl=

You can see some get to the interview stage in as little as 150 days and some took 400 days

So, look at the recent peoples timelines and you can see it might be 250 days before you get here

May 24, 2011 NOA1

Sept 11, 2011 NOA2-took 19 days to get case number

Prepare yourself, mentally, for a wait. We're at 6 1/2 months now and there's been no progress. I do not say this to scare or upset anyone, I feel that we had unreal expectations that a government agency could process things within the timeframe they stated, and that's what's caused us the most stress.

You've got time to prepare, you've got time to save funds. Make the best of that time and remember to "Keep Calm and Carry On"

Congrats on your engagement!

I can tell you that I kept checking the website to see any changes or updates and found that if you sign up for text messages/email notifications you will get those BEFORE the site is updated. So be sure you do!

Also, I would encourage you to read through what else is expected of you through the other stages of this journey because the more prepared you are the more at peace you will feel and you won't be left wondering What do I do now?! :)

Good Luck on your journey!

First of all Welcome and Good Luck on Your journey.

I'm in the military and to begin with the only sircumstances they would expedite the case is if theres a pending military deployments or emergency or humanitarian situations. Other then that is nothing they can do, if i have a question regarding this process i either go on here or call the uscis military help line since you can speak to a representative in matter of 5 min. If you ever want to call about your case # is 1-877-246-4645. With this said if hes getting moved to another base wont help anything, im in a similar situation since i have to choose a new base and i still dont know if this one might be overseas which i hope not.

a touch is just the "last updated" date on the case status website and it will show "initial processing until the day you are approved or get an RFE... but dont expect to be touched very often if at all. i was touched 2 days after Noa1, then on the day of approval, and then again 4 days later. as far as the timeline goes... you really should expect 5-6 month until your I-129F is approved, 2-4 week from then until you receive a letter from the embassy, and then another 2-3 month till interview. it could all go a lot faster but if you go in to this thinking it will be a quick process then you will drive yourself crazy with worry as soon as it goes a day over how long you hoped it would take.

get involved with the whole process and read up on everything that you need to know and the time soon passes.

good luck
