This whole thread is a mess but I'd just like to suggest, PLEASE meet in person before deciding to marry. Knowing a person online is very, very different than having a relationship in person. And please don't come to the US on a tourist visa with intent to marry. That's immigration fraud and illegal.

Oy

My husband didn't come with intent to marry. he was already here when we met and we doing everything the legal way. Your right this thread is a mess and some people need to know that they are trying to F___ up other's lives with their accusatory remarks instead of talking to the right person!

I know this is rough Terri. I think you do need to be preparing for a Stoke's interview. Search here and search google. Try to get a good handle on what may happen. A house visit may also occur.

I'm a little surprised that you didn't think this could happen. And no, I'm not judging what happened in your past - I think that anyone going through immigration needs to look at the whole picture and understand that anything that could even remotely look "not normal" will get extra scrutiny.

Heck, my husband and I have been happily married for 2 years but we fought like crazy to get here due to a CO who thought we weren't on the up and up. Because of that, every form/file/picture we send in - we use extra care. I would be mildly surprised if we had a home visit but not shocked. I expect our ROC interview to by very through. Why? Because our case wasn't "normal" from the beginning - we didn't meet the cultural norms for his country, I had recently divorced [granted a US citizen but in a state that didn't have a legal separation so even though I had been out of that marriage for years, the divorce cert showed me meeting my fiance a week after the divorce], etc etc etc.

I personally do not advocate ever letting your guard down when going through this process - until you either have a 10 yr GC or citizenship.

Also, keep in mind, people here who just see what you've filed and do know about your history - but do NOT know you personally - can look at what's happened and come up with conclusions that something maybe off. These are people who get what immigration involves and what happens typically. If people on vj think it looks fishy [even if it isn't] someone at USCIS may be coming to that conclusion too. Think of the feedback here as a canary in the mine shaft. Yeah, it sucks to hear someone claim you aren't on the up and up...but with the limited info they have, they may be coming to the exact same conclusion as an IO.

Hopefully you will hear something soon!
