Hello everyone, just want to see if anyone here has been thru the same situtation that i am right now. My husband is an active duty military personnel and is currently deployed in south korea so he cant attend the interview with me next month. I read on the uscis website that i can still go to the interview and just bring his orders. Also, right now i am living with his parents in arizona and left our house in texas while he's on tour. Just wondering whatelse do i need to bring besides the ones on the uscis list. Thanks a lot!

You need his orders and a letter from his command, other then that you need your proof of living together / marriage etc.

It sounds like you will go to the USCIS office in Phoenix. If so its a little hard to find. It is in what was the old Park Central mall on the West side of Central ave. When you turn in off Central ave find your way to the South side of the buildings in front of you. Drive thru the parking lot at the South side & watch for a small doorway about halfway along those buildings. Above the door you will see a small sign indicating its the office of USCIS. Go upstairs & you will find your way easily from there.

Thank you. They have a new office though behind burger king and its new bldg. It should be the same place where i did my biometrics unless there's 2 uscis phoenix office right? I'll check again on my appt letter.

Things may have changed but when I went thru this there were 3 USCIS offices all in different locations.

Biometrics is usually taken at an ASC center not a USCIS office. It could be completely different locations. Make sure to check your interview notice for the location.

I'm in the exactly same situation. You only have to prove that you have a real marriage and before the deployment he was living with you (letters with both of your names, letters with his name.etc etc) they will understand that you can't be with him because he is deployed. Just make sure you can prove that his address is the same as yours.(I have a lawyer and that's what the said to me) Please keep me posted about your interview, I still didn't have mine!

You said you had a house in Texas, so you probably have letters/bills/etc. from before he deployed at that address.

You can also get his parents to write an affidavit stating that you are currently living with them while he is deployed but normally live in Texas.

Thank you everyone for your support and advices. I had my AOS interview this morning at phoenix and was approved eventhough my husband was not with me. I came there 20 mins before my appointment. After going thru the scanning machine, i was directed to window # 1 where the uscis staff will take your appointment letter and ask you to have a sit and wait for your name to be called. The waiting was longer than the interview. Here are the questions that the co asked me:

- where is your husband?

- where was he stationed before? Why are you here in az?

- what is your dob?

- what is your phone #?

- where did you met? How?

The co then signed and stamped the paper in front of him. Didnt even look at my album or asked for any add'l documents from me. Then he gave me a paper that says i was recommended for approval. I only stayed in the office for 5 mins. It was a very smooth experience. Goodluck everyone especially to travis and meghan.
