Depending on your connection speed, Skype offers some of the best web cam quality. Voice and audio is excellent; however, it requires some higher computer resources and broadband is advisable if not required. www.skype.com

I find that Skype is much more reliable than Yahoo, the video is much higher quality, with more frames per second and the picture is larger than Yahoo, the sound is better too. http://www.skype.com/

I chat all the time with my fiance in China with Skype, we do also keep yahoo connected but only as a back up or to do things like play games, doodle, or quickly exchange pictures.

I use Skype as well and found the audio quality to be great and video as well. You can check it out by searching for skype downloads in your browser and going to the website. you both need to download it to your computers but it is good. if nothing else you can talk for free instead of using a telephone.

At the beginning in March, I used Yahoo messenger but it was so pathetic. I started using Skype for a few months after that but since July, I was not able to get her video feed across due to some software driver conflict in her computer. So I have been using www.sightspeed.com which has been quite reliable, however, the video quality is not as good as Skype. I still use Skype to send file back and forth. It is good to have a backup means of communication as in my case. I haven't spent much money on telephone calls anymore. However, it is good to keep track of a log of all your video calls.

Just tried skype the other day. The quality is much better than Yahoo and the video doesn't freeze at random like Yahoo does. I'm hooked!
