Yes, it does. Your online status will change to "interview scheduled", and shortly after that you will receive paper interview letter.

and got a yellow letter asking me to bring state license , current/expired passport and a court disposition documents on 2/28.

I have been checking the site looking to see if the status changes once the letter is in the mail.

The yellow letter is not an interview letter :no:

Yes, when interview is set, the online status will change to "scheduled for interview" with text/email notification (if signed up).

@blessed .. yes .. she was pretty nervous thats for sure. somebody said rescheduling takes like more than 2 months, no idea on validity of that assumption.

All,

I am looking to get opinions on the risk level behind the following idea, based on the timelines posted here along with the USCIS online processing times (5.6 Months for NY).

As noted on the Jan '12 table my Priority Date is 1/25/12, FP on 2/16/12, still have not received an Int Letter (which is the reason I need to plan based on deduction and expectations).

I am planning on going to Colombia to get married to my fiance, I will be there from 5/16/12 - 6/3/12, based on the timelines and such mentioned earlier I expect this to not be an issue, I am under the assumption that my Int Letter should be coming within the next two weeks (4/30-5/11) at the earliest. Based on the pattern I have noticed the actual Int will be for at least a month later (6/4-6/22). This would be inline or earlier than the 5.6 month turnaround noted on the USCIS portal for the NY Office.

Again, most of this is based on deduction/assumption, all made from timelines for people posting in Dec '11, Jan '12, and Feb '12. I am turning to the senior members who have had the chance to see many more of these timelines and cases to see if my assumptions are correct (or at least VERY probable). I understand there is always a risk but my main goal is to understand how likely it is that my case will be pushed forward when everything seems to be trending to being delayed (since NY Office is over the 5 month national average).

my dad passed his test, mom didnt .. on the speech part. she said while the IO was going through her application and on those YES/NO parts she answered one wrong. Then the IO asked again, she answered right then. IO said she is weak in english speech and needs to be tested again. She was given the white paper with speech part checked on retest. :oops:

That's mixed new then. :unsure: Great that your Dad passed, but sad that your Mom didn't. But like Blessed said, she was probably just a bit nervous. I hope she gets a date for a second interview soon.

Officially a USC! I was sworn in with 133 people representing 42 countries. It was a quick ceremony and our friends and families were allowed in the courtroom with us. Very proud to be an American after having been in the US for 22/25 years of my life. Momentous. :)

Congrats to all our new USC's and all those who have interviews and oaths coming up this week (Notscenenough, Pepper, DAndy127, Corishman)!!! Yay... we are all moving forward!!! :dance: :dance: :dance: For those still waiting, hang in there! We are here still cheering you on. It will soon be over!! :thumbs:

Officially a USC! I was sworn in with 133 people representing 42 countries. It was a quick ceremony and our friends and families were allowed in the courtroom with us. Very proud to be an American after having been in the US for 22/25 years of my life. Momentous. :)

Thank you all for your support in this journey! Off to the passport office after I update below... :)

Biometrics-- waived

4/25/12- interview- passed & took my oath the same day!!-- US Citizen!!!

congrats to everyone who cleared their interview. i have still some time i guess since i have Newark, NJ processing our case. did anyone get an interview notice from newark. We applied on Jan 26th 2012.

andy, I don't think we have any NJ filers in the January thread. Maybe try looking through a few previous months threads (December 2011, November 2011, October 2011, etc.). If there are any NJ filiers there, it should at least give you somewhat of a idea what processing times are like in your local office.

Wow! That's a long time, DAndy. Congratuations to you. :dance::dance::dance: It seems so funny to me that we all are getting these bits of paper to show we're USCs and then we immediately turn around and send them away from us :rofl:. But I guess that is the nature of being a naturalized citizen is that we are much more likely to need/want to travel than the average USC.
