The operator I talked to this morning seemed slightly confused...but she seemed indicate that it was a false RFE for the DS-260 and supporting documents. IV fee was taken out of my bank account this morning, so it should shift to PAID on the site today, and hopefully that means the DS-260 will be available to fill out today as well. We've been ready for it all weekend!

We received the police certificate from the UK. They processed it the same day they received it and sent it out the next so the total time from when I mailed the application to receiving it was 10 days.

Now I'm ready to send it immediately if I get a checklist asking for it. Hopefully that doesn't happen.

That's fast if you allow for it having to get there and back; should get mine soon.

hey friends how long does it takes for us to be declared as case closed from NVC? thanks...

After both packages are sent in, about a week or two, if no RFEs. Could be longer though.

Grats on your SSN! Didn't even need to go to a SSA office to apply. Lucky!

Getting the green card or SSN first always varies. Don't worry about not getting your green card yet. It's only been 2 weeks. There is absolutely no need to call until MONTHS have passed by. As it's only been 2 weeks, you just need to wait it out a bit longer. You should be getting a welcome letter in the mail soon which will have a USCIS number that you can track on their site (like with the I-130). Remember, it might take a bit depending on your POE as well as how busy it is at USCIS since they need to process your case.

And don't forget, if you need to present a green card for some reason (job, bank, etc), then your passport with the visa and stamp will act as a temporary one for up to a year!

Well hopefully your note works and they let you bring it to the interview rather than send it in.

I guess you should find out in the next few days, right?

I don't know :(

The process is not clear like in the UK. The joys of Turkish bureaucracy... It may or may not come at a time they are yet unable to define is a good description.

I had a horrible day, I'm quitting my job after my boss publicly criticized me for total BS, I'm not staying in this hell... I really wish my husband was here right now.

IV package still under review.

It's so boring when the operator wants to check both phone numbers and email addresses EVERY time you call... They say my phone number so fast I wouldn't be able to recognize it anyway !

I know...it gets super obnoxious. And I always get tripped up on whether I should say my husband's name properly or the American way, then the poor operators struggle with both of our names...even after I just said them...

Just called NVC for any update of my case and the operator seemed very personable....Apart from that , i also got the good news that the review of both my wife's and my daughter's AOS AND DS230 package has been completed and that they are trying to schedule their appointment at the US embassy in Lagos...

Does anyone know how long it takes to get an interview date in Lagos, nigeria

Grats on the case complete! kicking.gif

As for the wait times, I don't know what it is for Lagos. I'd suggest searching recent case completes in Lagos and see how long they had to wait to get their interview date. That's what I did for Canada when I was in NVC :)

My AOS was delivered to NVC today (Mon 1/23)!

I just called NVC and asked about the IV packet since they received it last Thursday (1/19) and I hadn't followed up yet. The woman I spoke to said it had been reviewed and the application and all documents were complete and they were just waiting on the AOS. I guess that means they aren't going to ask for the police certificate from the UK.

I really really really hope that's the case. I asked her to confirm that everything was approved from the IV and she said it was again.

I hope they review the AOS in 2-3 days and give me some good news before the end of the week!
