i am very confused, we got this email from USCIS. is that NOA 1 or 2 or none of both.

i need your help, thank you.

Your USCIS application/petition has been received and routed to the California Service Center for processing. Within 7-10 days by standard mail you will receive your official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) with your Receipt Number.[/font]

That is your NOA1... they gave you confirmation they got the packet and will be issuing you a letter of receipt that has your case number on it. So when you get that receipt letter keep it safe and that will have your case file number on it if you ever need to contact USCIS.

You just recieved your NOA1 and the CSC will be processing your petition. It will just have your name as the petitioner and your fiance's name as the beneficary for visa benefits. There will be a second date listed which is the date the actually person at center has all you documentation and evidence filed away until they get a chance to review the case.

Your NOA 2 will say something in the lines of , The USCIS has completed the review of your peition and APPROVED it. Then your case has been forwarded to the department of state (NVC) for further processing.

09/15/2012: Got Married
09/26/2012: Mailed I-130 from Nigeria( delayed by customs)
USCIS stage ( 66 days)
10/12/2012: NOA 1
12/17/2012: NOA 2 (case was transferred to NYC office 11/27/12)
NVC stage ( 20 days)
01/08/2013: Case # and IIN assigned ( file arrived NVC mail room 12/20/12)
01/09/2013: AOS invoiced and paid, DS-3032 emailed and mailed.
01/16/2013: IV invoiced &paid. AOS & IV mailed in one package(arrived 01/18).
01/28/2013: Case complete!!!
04/19/2013: Interview; APPROVED!!!!!

that is an email notification that the NOA-1 (formletter I-797-C showing receipt of casefile with casefile number) will be going to the USCitizen Petitioner.

That's it, nothing more.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
