Timeline

So I logged on to VJ today (it's become a kind of a daily ritual as time goes by, waiting for our NOA2)... and I checked the VJ timelines for IR-1/CR-1 I-130 processing and wow, that was a surprise! The last time I'd checked, August files were being worked upon (please do not confuse this with the "June 16" processing date the CSC officials themselves tell callers). And this evening, it's now September.

Now, since VJ estimates are based on updates from members, I'm being a weeee bit hopeful and jumping to the conclusion that approvals have sped up.

Either way, I'm so, so, so hoping the CSC is sitting up straight now and trying to get the workload cleared now. They have no excuses anymore... the holidays are over, it's time to get to some serious work, people! :bonk:

Ahem... FYI, I'm an October filer so I'm hoping y'all get cleared asap so that my application can see the light of day - it's still "untouched"! :crying:

Priority date: 14th October 2011

NOA 2: 23rd March 2012

Case Complete at NVC: 29th May 2012

Interview schedule for 30th July 2012 > Result: Administrative Processing / Green slip 221(g)

AP ended on 29th August - Passport in hand!!

A more accurate idea of where approvals stand is on Igor's list.

Most recent approvals by CSC are from July -> http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/monthly_filers.php?cfl=$cfl

Hang in there...

Timeline

Since 12/21 there have only been two VJ members who have reported receiving an NOA2 for their IR-1/CR-1. Both were July filers.

Since 12/22 there have been no VJ members who have reported receiving an NOA2 for their K1 from the CSC. Vermont on the other hand has issued 5 NOA2's during that same time according to VJ member reports, mostly September filers.

The system we have to work with is out of date in my opinion. The USCIS really needs to implement an online process so that they can truly process applications in the order in which they were received instead of randomly sending applications to different offices and then to different officers who may work at different paces. There would be a virtual queue that could be worked by any case worker in any location. I know some applications are more complicated than others, but that doesn't explain why some users who filed in November have already been approved even though they weren't expedited. This type of online system would obviously take time and money to implement, but it is going to happen eventually. The NVC now has an online version of the DS-230 called the DS-260, it is currently limited to a handful of consulates, but at least it is a start and a good way to prove that an automated system can reduce processing times for everyone.

I was going to make this a more flowery statement but never mind:

The "Currently processing" thing here on VJ is worse than useless and I'm starting to think it is actively harmful. Excluding outliers, CSC is not even close to August, let alone September. Pay no mind at all to that information especially as it pertains to CSC.

Update: Yes, I've been looking closer and this VJ timeline doesn't seem to be adding up with the figures anyway. :\ Igor's List, which seems more reflective of actual trends, shows loads of July filers still waiting for NOA2 so I'm back to waiting "blindly" again. Gotta have faith! I'm just hoping the new year's going to zap some sense into CSC... they might just get a move on with their workload now!

I hope so as well. However, I'm firmly of the opinion that they are basically not processing I-130s at all and are instead concentrating on something else for some reason. All one has to do is compare the volume VSC is processing to CSC's volume to come to that conclusion. Around June practically all I-130 processing at CSC, with occasional exceptions, ceased. Meanwhile, VSC is still cruising along even if a little slower than before.

My Representative will be looking into the situation come Tuesday. Hopefully that turns up some kind of positive result.
