HI VJers, I'm fairly new on this forum. My wife and I are filing I-130 for my CR-1 visa in January (we were married in March 2011) and have been living in Norway since then. We have the marriage certificate, but besides that, the only thing I really have to prove a bona fide relationship would be pictures (we have tons of pictures dating back over 2 years proving we've been on multiple vacations and family parties etc, incl an engagement party with my wife's family), we also have phone records, emails, bank transfers, plane tickets etc. Problem is, we have no joint ownership of anything. No lease (we currently live in a separate area of my parents' house to save money), no property, no joint bank accounts, nothing. We do have a car we're planning to put in both our names once it's been paid off, but we won't be able to pay it off before filing the I-130.

Question is, what can I add to the I-130 package as proof of a bona fide marriage. I heard photos alone often doesn't do the trick, and we really are trying to avoid an RFE. Would it suffice to print out bank records, airline receipts and phone records to add to a photo timeline? We also have personal anniversary gifts to one another (photo albums and so on). I mean, what's the normal thing to include for a couple in their mid 20s with no joint property or assets?

lol the best thing i have to provide proof of a bondfide relationship is a 1 year old baby that was born to us 9 months after our wedding hehe. and well a trip to singapore with my wife. otherwise in indonesia there is no Joint bank accounts and foreigners are forbidden ( actually illegal ) for them to own a house or property cant even really have a vehicle in my name since im just a temporary resident. so my biggest proof is going to be our son , whom has a CRBA certificate and a passport and a SS card all with my wife as his mother on all of them .

Joint anything isn't necessary - it's just helpful if available. USCIS understands most couples starting out don't have everything in shared accounts - especially if you're living overseas or living apart in different countries. In your case - plane tickets, passport stamps, bank transfers and pictures are all good.

Don't worry about the rest of it. Joint accounts and all that mess is a MUCH bigger deal later when filing for Removal of Conditions (ROC).

Haha, that would make it a lot easier. Would be difficult and highly unreasonable for the USCIS to claim your baby is fake.. Well, we're 26 and 23, no baby will be in the picture for a few more years, and we're certainly not having one for immigration purposes

Yea similar situation here. I got joint names on a few things in the U.S. though, nothing impressive. One of them is actually a phone bill though and the phone is a VOIP phone that actually is located in our apartment in Bali, giving us a local U.S. number and phone in Bali. I'd like to think that the folks in the embassy in Jakarta are familiar with the situation in Indonesia. Also, the bottom line is we are married, we have a kid together, and we live together. We have over 5,000+ pictures too which couldn't hurt. You probably do have a joint-prenumpt together so that you wife won't lose all her her property to the goverment as a prize for marrying you but a prenumpt somehow isn't as exciting as a joint utility bill.

Do you have Facebook? I used posts form FB. announcing our engagement, then our wedding, etc

We also included 4 letters from friends.

And the journey begins!

My husbsand and I have just gotten married after a relatively quick dating period (3 months) so we don't have a ton of pictures dating back years. However, my name is on his rental agreement and his bank account. What other kinds of 'proof of bone fide marriage' could we provide?
