Hi this is my first post so forgive me i am new to all the codes.

2006 married my Egyptian husband in Amman Jordan

(had twins in 2008)

we both resided together in Jordan until march of 2011 ,

I then came back with my 3yr old twins to usa due to medical needs of one of my children

July 4, 2011 filed I-130

Dec 28, 2011 approved! *saw online, waiting letter*

so i am kindof not knowing what we need to do next or what we will be filing, and how much will it cost? i could almost swear i read that the next paper we had to file was almost 1,000 dollars or 1,090 . Is that right??? i am hoping to do it the cheapest way. lol

and how long now should i expect till i have him in my arms again?

plz any input would be appreciated.

so it is right that the fee for the next paper is 1,070 ??? omg. also i am not working and getting medicaid and fstamps , is the anyway to get a waiver for this paper, i think i read something somewhere that some can be waived due to hardships???

No.. That's not right.. $1K+ is for Adjustment of status and s for K1 visa. Your next bill is Visa fee and medical exam for your benificiary which is roughly $500 + Correct me Vjers if im wrong..

You also need an Affidavit of support (I-864), since you are on Medicaid and Food stamps, you need a co sponsor, there's no way you can waive any of the affidavit of support otherwise your wife's visa will be denied due to lack of support.

Like Interesting said, your main problem will be the Affidavit of Support. You'll have to prove you can support your husband and two kids in the US. If you're not working or you receive medicaid and foodstamps I'm assuming you don't make 125% ov poverty guidelines.. You'll need a co-sponsor.

For spouse visas, it's called a "joint sponsor" but yes, this will be the main hurdle. The government fees are $88 and $404. Later, he'll pay a doctor or clinic in Cairo for a medical exam. As with most oversees cases, travel expenses are more than the direct immigration costs.

Read the I-864 instructions for an explanation of using a joint sponsor.

In our case, that took a while to get someone willing and collect all of their paperwork, so that could delay your process as well.

I get that you used the word "ideally" but there are two major errors in your statement above. First, the idea that the qualifying income needs to be for now plus the three prior years is a common misconception. Just because they ask for information from the three most recent tax returns, doesn't mean the information is critical. Second, a joint sponsor counts their own household size, plus the intending immigrant. They do not count the petitioner (your, your children) or any of the petitioner's family members except the intending immigrant. (Unless the petitioner and her children ARE part of the joint sponsor's household)
