Hi,

I just received the hard copy of our NOA-2. It's the greatest christmas gift I have ever received so far, this year. I was advised by fellow VJs to start calling NVC after a week or two to check if they have received our case.

Now, my question is: Can I use MAGIC JACK in calling NVC?

Im the beneficiary and Im from the Philippines. My husband, the petitioner, cannot call NVC every single day as he is busy with work that's why he delegated it to me.

I need some insights please. Thanks!

My husband in Egypt is unable to get through with magic jack. He says it does not work. But, I have heard of one person who used it successfully. But, I think most the time it does not work. All you can do is try.

Sept 30, 2011 NVC number and IIN received Friday-gotta wait till Monday

Oct 13, 2011 Case Completed- 13 days from receiving case number Took 32 days from NOA2

Nov 30, 2011 Notified of Interview date

January 19, 2012 Interview- 240 days from NOA1

INTERVIEW RESULTS-APPROVED WITH 14 WEEKS AP--but he got his visa in 56 days!!!!!!

Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Yes, I have tried calling NVC a couple of times already but I can't seem to get through their line. But a good friend sent me a private message telling me that they used magic jack in calling NVC for their case and they had been successful so far. Hmmm...

I dont know about Magic Jack, but try it, it should work as it promises to call to USA number. But I have Skype WorldWide Unlimited, and I can call NVC using my Skype.

How can I subscribe for skype worldwide unlimited? Is it for free? The one that we can download from our computer anytime? Or is it the one that needs monthly subscription fee? Thanks for your reply.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I have read already the wiki EZGuideSpouse. I cant seem to find the phrase or items which says that it has to be theg petitioner who makes the first set of calls. Can you please point it out please? Maybe I missed it out.

You don't need Skype World Unlimited to call the US from outside north america. Get either an unlimited US plan or put money on the tab and pay the 2 or 3 cents per minute.

I am wondering if Google Voice could be used as that gives FREE calls to US and Canada. I know you need to be in the US to register for the account so have someone in US register. You can still log on from outside the US. I'm just wondering if you can place calls with it when logged in from outside the US.

Yes! Skype US Unlimited is $6.95 USD per month. Worth the money if you talk alot over the phone.

I once have used Google Voice in India using Indian gmail account. Somehow they will disconnect the call in short period or sometimes it goes fine. I tried to use for 2nd time, but it didnt allow. Overall, it gave little extra hassle. I am sure, Google Voice would have some limitation for calling, etc.

Go with Skype US Unlimited, as $6.95 pm is not a big expense at all. It allows 6 hrs a day. It is more than enough for a day.
