I-94/Visa date change question

Our next step is applying for AOS but in the meantime I want to travel within the US... problem is that my I-94 expires in a week and my K1 Visa is expiring mid-March while I may still be travelling. Is there a form for extensions? Where would I submit it? We got married within the 90 days and I have a SSN now in my new married name so documents need to reflect this as well. Any help with this would be very much appreciated?

Your visa become null and void the moment you stepped into the US. So regardless of when your visa expires - it doesn't mean anything.

Traveling within the US should be fine (although I didn't go the K-1 route so someone will pipe up if I am wrong) but make sure you carry ID with you

I answered your other post in the K1 forum. You cannot extend the I-94. You cannot change names on either the visa or the I-94. Contact the Canadian government about getting a new passport. I'd personally wait on the new passport until you have a green card with your new name. It will make travel/identification dramatically easier if your passport and green card match.

You don't generally need immigration documents to travel within the US. TSA only checks your identification. However, they do require that the name on your ID matches the name on your ticket. There's also a chance that TSA might notice something non-kosher about your passport, and call CBP to come and examine it. CBP might ask about your immigration status. If you haven't applied for AOS yet, and if your I-94 is expired, then you are technically out of status. You can usually clear this up by showing your marriage certificate, proving you've complied with the K1 visa requirements and are now eligible to adjust status. However, it can still result in hours of delay and even interrogation by CBP. There's not a big risk of this happening, but you should be aware that it's possible. Once you've filed the AOS then keep a copy of your I-485 receipt notice as proof you are lawfully present in the US.

As it was already said, your K1 "expired" the second you POE'd into the U.S. and a week from now you will be out of status once your I-94 expires, but as I understand you're inquiring about traveling while AOS is in process, right?

To avoid most complications or misunderstandings I would wait until you have filed for AOS and have the paper NOA in hand, and then always carry that or a copy with you while traveling and you should be fine
