Firstly Id like to thank god, without him nothing is possible

My wife has finally received her visa. Some of you may not have noticed but I changed my screen name it use tO be far three one six. I had filled my wife's I-130 in march of 2011. Her interview date was December 21st 2011. Immediately put in AP. We talked to senators, congressman, lawyers, even people who worked in the embassy. No luck. Someone had calledher house last week saying. Your visa expires december 9th if we issue can you travel before than. She said yes. We were hoping for good news to come. Three days later her visa packet had arrived. If my wife got her visa after waiting so long, anyone can. Never give up hope always keep faith that something good is about to happen.

My fiance had his interview on March 5, 2011. The CO told him that his case is in AP, but it's nothing to worry about because everyone gets in AP and that it'll pass within 1-3 months. We waited for 3 months without calling the DOS or the embassy, and we got no answer. After the 3 months, I started calling DOS and he started calling the embassy in Islamabad. The only answer we would get is that the case is still in AP and that they can't give us any answer of when it will be cleared up and when my fiance will get his visa.

So it has been 8 months since our case has been in AP and it has been a total of 16 months since we have applied for the Fiance Visa (we applied in July of 2011).

I hope and pray that the visa gets accepted soon.

i have a very important question that if u put under AP CAN U apply for a student visa ??? inteview date 20 sept 2012 AP pending F4

they probably will not approve a student visa/tourist visa if you already have an immigrant visa application in AP at the embassy. They already see this as ongoing and immigrating and they will view another application as just trying to get there faster and trying to get around AP or other red tape.

But you can try...who knows what they will do anymore...

I pray that all of you hear some good news soon. Any idea why some do not get AP and others get long AP and others only a short duration? I am just curious as I know it is on a case by case basis. What is the criteria they are looking at there? Insha'Allah you will all hear something soon.

ours was more of a name hit issue.. i think its been cleared because now we are having updates ... at the time of our interview the CO told us word for word... technically I can't say your approved but I can say that Your case is fine you have nothing to worry about we just have to clear his name in the name checks...

There is no consistency in trying to figure it out. I see cases with HUGE red flags approved right away. Then I see a straightforward case in AP for over a year.

The only option we have is to wait it out and pray it happens soon now. I am glad to see that there are ppl getting approved and visas issued after AP but I have to admit im grieving for ours now too... Inshallah... all in Allah's timing.
