Hey guys! We got our NOA2 on Dec 2 and when my fiancee called NVC to inquire about our petition, he was told that it was going straight to Manila. He then called USCIS and they said the same thing. We were thinking it's a good thing but then why did it not go through the usual process? Also, how do we know it has reached Manila?

They all go trough NVC. Even if just there for 2 days. That is where the NVC case number is assigned.

Call NVC and get your case number.

Good Luck

Lately the spouse visa have been taking 4 weeks to get a case number. I do not know what the wait is for fiance

They are not all going thru NVC and some of the cases do skip NVC and go directly to the consulate. You can try to contact consulate but give it couple weeks so it will reach them.

Thanks for the reply =)Okay then I guess I'll have my fiancee call NVC again and ask for the case number. The case number is the reference number I give if I want to call the embassy here to ask if our petition has arrived, right?

How do I inquire about it? If it really did skip NVC then where do we get a reference number to check if it has reached Manila?

This statement is incorrect. They all must go through the NVC. Many Approval Notices now say sent directly to the consulate but they are not. Ours said sent directly to Manila but we were stuck at the NVC for 50 days.

So when did you finally find out that it was at the NVC? My fiancee has called them twice and even the USCIS, both have said our petition went straight to Manila. I talked to one of the agents from US embassy in Manila and I was told that there was never a case that a petition would skip NVC. How do we go about it? Your response would be very much appreciated^^

just keep calling NVC several times in a week to check for any updates, hopefully someone will tell you something more concrete.. also try emailing NVC ... NVCINQUIRY @sate.gov

type your USCIS receipt 3 in the subject line of the email

put beneficiary's name and date of birth and petitioner's name and date of birth in the body of the mail, then ask that you were informed your case has been sent to manila but no NVC case # was ever issued to you...you would like to know that status of your case file..

good luck

He called a contracted telephone operator that is not at NVC. ALL petitions go to NVC. No exceptions. That is WHY it is called "National Visa Center" and also WHY the 800 numbers are called the "misinformation lines"

Stop calling people that have no idea waht they are talking about. He will get a letter in the mail from the NVC with the MNL case number
