Hi all,

I got NOA for I-485 a month ago. However I haven't received biometric appointment letter yet. Yesterday I called USCIS and they opened a service request for me and asked me to wait for 15 days. I am not sure what else I can do. Any suggestions?

Also does anybody know whether the online case status changes when they send me the biometrics appointment letter? Now the status for me is they received the I-485 and sent me NOA. If it does change when they send, I would know whether you've sent that or not.

Thank you.

Thank you. Do you mean when you sign up for email/text alerts there will be notice in your email/phone? How do you do this? Thanks!

Thanks for this. I thought signing up these alerts will get same update as the online case status. Will they send notice by email/text while not updating the online status when the appointment letter comes out?

Posted

I always get text/emails same time with online update.

This is from the website:

Your case may have a new "Last Updated" date and you may receive an Email and/or text message notification of your case being updated, without the status of the case changing. This is due to internal USCIS processing being performed on your Case. This will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date, but may not result in a different status message.

Don't be too discouraged just yet. We also had to call in to get our Biometrics letter sent. They never sent it out at first. In the end it didn't affect our timeline much. We still completed our interview and received the green card in just about three months.

Thank you for sharing your story. I feel a little bit better. I haven't got the appointment letter yet though.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to update my case status. Today I called USCIS again and got a chance to talk to an officer who said that I already had biometrics info in the system. Yes, I did one for travel document application this year on July 7, 2011. Didn't know that they would take this one for I-485. So I am glad to know this. I thought it may be helpful for someone who has similar situation. Seems an recent biometrics info can be used for future application though I don't know how close they should be and the exact conditions for this.

Thanks.
