any USCIS phone # that I can call to verify my biometrics appointment? This is seriously worrying me as a VJ member 'Faraeh' (sorry if spelt wrong) received their NOA1 2 days after me and has a letter already in the mail with a scheduled appt for Dec 18. I received my NOA1 on November 16 and should be having my bio test around mid month of December. ####### should do I?.. Sorry I am just desperate and need a # because if I can make that call believe me I will deliver with bells on.

Thanks for any responses!

You cant exactly plan when you are getting biometrics, it is dependent on the local ASC center. It may be super busy or backed up or short staffed etc, they book them when they get a chance.

Either way the number for USCIS is

1-800-375-5283

What he said. No need to get "desperate" over a few days or even a few weeks.

Well i can say you don't know my situation. If you did your jaw would drop. I will save it for myself this time. So thank you for your generous response. It greatly relieved my query.

Thank you sweetheart.. I know I can't plan I just wondered if anybody could tell me when it's scheduled as I know I have a schedule date.. it's just not in my hands through the mail. I actually called that # before I read this message. :) God Bless and good luck. :)

What are you doing making comments on my topic in this part of the forum anyway? You've been AOS approved since March this year so please, keep your helpless comments to your other half or in PM. This website is about helping others and advice, not trashing one's advice for help. Thank you. ps. My apolgies VJ'ers.

staying calm is always best. dont let the stress get the best of you.

biometrics usually come quick. yes, as they said, if noa1 + 30 days but no noa2, give a check-up call.

and i want to agree with someone above who said that you should never think that anything in this whole process is first come, first served. you'll end up bitter and pissed off. waste of time.

surrender to the process and be vigilant!

That's what I was going to suggest...if 30 days passes without one, put in a service request to see if you can jog it loose. In our month of filing last year everybody had them but 2 or 3 from Houston office. That was an indication that H-town must have been way busy. So we got the bio letter the next week after the service request. We went for a walk-in the next day or so, expecting a crowd. Big room with over 100 chairs and one lady sat waiting on her spouse. The scanning stations were free and the workers were hanging around talking. Busy and over-booked???

You do understand that your GC is valid for a whole extra year with your receipt letter? An interview would be super-extremely rare. They just mail you the new card.

Actually I read that in the last notice I received (about the extra year) - I didn't think I was reading it right though! It's all good I will sit and wait for it to come..I'm sure it will. I trust my helpful VJers Dan & Jenny and Mr & Mrs to stay stressless..... I hope you and Nick are okay?? It's been 2 years since I spoke with ya! :)

Yes stressless! Mr & Mrs used to be the biggest stresser of all or am I thinking of somebody else? LOL.

Indeed we're doing well. We went to Alaska, San Francisco, and Denver this year, but decided not to go to England. Nick doesn't miss it. Time to fill out citizenship papers, but we're so busy with other stuff. Geez! I sound like a Christmas letter. hahahaha. Take care!

First time poster here!

I've read and studied every bit of this process that I could, but I still had no idea that the biometrics letter would come so soon (or should come so soon) after the NOA1. I first got wind of this the other day when reading threads here, and came back specifically to check on this.

I got my NOA1 in late September and nothing since. I'll give them a call about the biometrics...I had no idea! It's one of those damn blind spots that seems to hit in this process when you think you've learned all you can. I've been waiting patiently for my NOA2 and assumed everything "next" would be in those mailings.
