I have just sent off my ROC package a week ago. Though just before I did that I received a notice from USCIS (forwarded from my old address) to update to my current address. I received my 2 year card at my current address after our interview in Feb 2010. I am confused. Is online change of address unreliable??

The same thing happened to me. I was sent a reminder to start thinking about ROC, which they sent to my previous address. It was returned to them, and then they forwarded to my correct address, so they did have that. Included in that was a bit of paper to fill out and send them the correct address. Which they sent to the correct address. Beats me

If there is confusion, it seemed to me that it was on their part. If they sent me the reminder addressed to where I am now, they must have received the online change I would think. All the same, given it's USCIC, I sent them their blooming change of address, again. My NOA1 and biometrics letter did come to the right place, the first time

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Oh cool! Yes I received the same thing...they sent me an AR-11 form to my current address to send back but I just did it online. Hopefully I will receive my NOA1 to my current address.lol. Good luck :)

Did you do both change of address forms. You the beneficiary AR11 and the petitioner I-865 both have to be sent off. For some reason I could not do the AR11 online so I sent it by mail I never received anything back from them but we received a notice on the I-865 to y husband that the change of address had been accepted.

You should file online AND send the physical copy. That updates both address systems.

You would think so. Didn't however work for me.

vanessa, what do you think about submitting the AR-11 both electronically and via USPS when the instructions online state not to do so?

this issue came up earlier in the july 2011 filers thread. i think you are gonna say that it is better to give them the information twice to ensure that the address does in fact get updated.

i submitted the AR-11 online (it was a two part process) and then the i-865 via USPS (didnt see an online option for that form).

Seems a very common occurrence. My thinking on this is that, when they do decide to send out these ROC reminders, they just use the same address they send the initial green card to, regardless of whether you've changed your address or not. So right now I've decided not to worry about it. It's not like they even did a very good job with writing my name on the reminder; it was addressed to "J Surname" and let me tell you, that means it could've been meant for 4 different people, only one of whom still lives at that address and that wasn't me :) I appreciate the intent behind the reminders, at least
