My family is waiting for the AP to making travel plans and purchase airline tickets. We have the interview on 12/12, but were hoping to get AP before that. I see many people get AP a week before the interview - is that what we should expect as well? Or considering we were called for the interview ( we did not submit a single proof of our marriage with the AOS package) the AP will be delayed until after the interview?

Did you apply for the EAD as well as AP? Did you get the EAD yet?

Yes, we applied for AP and EAD together with AOS. The AOS interview has been scheduled on 12/12. No updates on AP nor EAD. I wonder if the interview (might be related to no evidence) is holding the AP up. Or something else?

When did you get your NOA1? Usually when someone gets an interview before AP or their EAD it means their case is just moving quickly. It wouldn't be an evidence thing as pretty much all AP requests are approved unless you forgot something on the application (and then you would get an RFE). Even people with long overstays who can't use AP get approved.

That's probably why. Assuming you get approved on 12/12, your case will be 2.5 months start to finish - which is very fast. AP usually takes about 2 months and the EAD takes 2-3 months, so you may end up getting it just prior to your interview or you may not. Once you have your GC it won't matter.
