You can take the TOEFL any time. Check with the university regarding the requirements for international students and getting course credit. Likely you will need to have your green card before being able to enroll.

You didn't look too hard for admissions info. Look here >>> http://www.etsu.edu/admissions/ and then here >>>> http://www.etsu.edu/admissions/international/default.aspx

First of all congrats. I recall your postings several months ago when things seemed bleak. Very happy for you two!

You can take TOEFL anytime, but not sure if that applies to you anymore. In some colleges, they use a different test when you are already here and not going to be considered an international student. You would not -I believe- considered an international student, and until you get GC, not a resident either. Regardless, to qualify for in-state tuition, you might need to be in TN for 1 year (based on a TN drivers license or id for example). Check the university requirements. Best might be to get in touch with the International Student office and explain the situation so they can direct you to the right office. In some states, they would take your application for admission based on an AOS being filed; but I don't know the details in TN. You would need transcripts from Rumania for sure, and would need to be translated to English (but you can do the translation yourself).

Also, make sure to check what requirements exist for financial aid, etc.

Good luck

When I started college I had my GC already, but they never asked to see it. I showed them my highschool diploma ( I didn't have to translate it because it was already translated into the main languages spoken in Europe, including English - I don't know if it is the same in Romania). A few weeks before college started, I took several tests (math, English ect.) like everybody else. Got the score of the tests and they decided I didn't need to take a ESL class. I don't know if the process is the same in TN. Just call the school and ask. You won't be considered an International student.
