Interview Today (Approved)

We had our interview today, our case was approved and the imigration officer said that she should get her green card in four to six months(did she mean weeks?). Have people that have been approved been told the same thing. I am seeing many people getting their green card a few weeks (or days) after the interview...Four to six months is a long time.

They told my husband four to six months also, and it took about two or three weeks.

Which turned out to be good, because we realized a few days later that his stamp was wrong. We interviewed right after New Year's and the man hadn't changed the year on his date stamp yet. We interviewed in January 2005 but he put that it had been granted in Jan. 2004 and expired in Jan. 2005. We made an InfoPass appointment to have it corrected, but the card arrived before the appointment.

I'm not saying yours will necessarily come that fast, but "four to six months" is definitely a standard line.

4-6 months.... what?

Some people get it right at the interview. We had our interview May 16 , and the INS officer told us... well we can't approve your case , because we misplaced your husbands immunization records.

1 month later they had been sent to the correct office, and he had his welcome letter.

By July 3, he had his green Card.

I am sure your's will arrive soon.

We were told 3-4 months because the name check clearance wasn't completed. Did they mention anything about your security checks?
