Arrrgh another I-134 question!!

Line 11 in the I-134 scares me a little bit. I really dont know what to answer on that line. Wouldnt it be obvious in a marraige that we would support each other, just like any other marraige?? I have also seen in example forms from this site it was left "n/a". Is that the proper way to fill it??

Also I am a quite concerned about the income level thing. I was out of a job for 6 months in 2004 and made less then poverty level. I made good on both 2003 and 2005. Will 2004's income mess me up??

I dont know about #11 but #5 states

5.

That I am willing and able to receive, maintain and support the person(s) named in item 3. That I am ready

deposit a bond, if necessary, to guarantee that such person(s) will not become a public charge during his

United States, or to guarantee that the above named person(s) will maintain his or her nonimmigrant status,

temporarily and will depart prior to the expiration of his or her authorized stay in the United States.

And the past 3 years of taxes only verify that you have been employed regularly paying taxes, I believe they look at current income and assets the most.

Ok..here's my take on Q11

The I-134 is not a requirement for K visas even though the Embassies use this amongst other things in order to ascertain that the beneficiary/applicant will not become a public charge. The I-134 is more geared towards other types of non immigrant visas. Q11 leans toward those completing the form when an applicant is not going to be living in the US permanently, when an allowance etc will be given to the applicant during their stay in the US. So on this question I would do as the guide suggested and put N/A

it used to say above the question that it was only to be filled out if beneficiary was to be in the US temporarily. That's where the n/a comes from.

On the newer forms, it doesn't say that any more I don't think.

Just put down that you don't make any specific contributions.

I wrote "All visa expenses, airline ticket costs to come to the US, room/board/food until beneficiary can be legally employed and able to contribute financially."

But according to what everyone posted, I guess I can change this to N/A
