Prima facie is Latin and means "on first sight." Prima facie he seemed guilty, but later we learned he was innocent after all.

I have no idea what you are talking about.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

I am actually in same situation. I filed my I-360 on Sept 20th, 2011. I was sent an RFE for GMC that I submitted with the police clearance within four days of receiving the RFE.VSC has recieved my RFE Response on Oct 5th but I am still waiting for my Prima Facie Approval. Technically, it should be very quick but lookinhg at other people's experience, it seems that VSC takes little longer once they require GMC. Do not loss hope and courage, you will recieve it soon.

prima facie is when YOU addres all the requirement FOR NOW however some cases get approve with out prima facie detrmination and some cases get denind with prima facie been approved when you send your petition to VSC your cae will be assigned to an oficcer and that when the IO analyses your case and he will detrment wither the case is urgent (abuse wis)or if he need to SEND RFE if your evidenc is sufficient he will order the security clearance about the petitioner and that will take about 3 month but keep in mind that the officer have the right to hold your petition up to 36 month with no decision its not often but it will happend with some people

good luck

everything that happening at this moment is a RESULT of the CHOICE you ve made in the past...

The OP is talking about the acceptance of a VAWA self-petition. If USCIS is satisfied that the applicant has provided evidence that, "on first sight", appears to show that the abuse actually occurred, then USCIS sends a "prima facie" determination letter. Essentially, it means they've accepted the petition for adjudication.

12/15/2009 - K1 Visa Interview - APPROVED!

12/29/2009 - Married in Oakland, CA!

08/18/2010 - AOS Interview - APPROVED!

05/01/2013 - Removal of Conditions - APPROVED!

Aaaaand I learned something new, again.

Thanks!
