K1-K2 Visas Journey

(Day 1) 05/23/07: Packet sent to CSC

(Day 247) 01/25/08: Interview. Approved!

(Day 254) 02/01/08: Visas Received.

AOS Journey K1-K2

(Day 1) 04/20/08: Application sent.

(Day 73) 07/02/08: EAD,AP Approved!

(Day 108) 08/05/08: AOS Approved!

(Day 114) 08/11/08: 2 years GC received.

ROC Journey K1-K2

(Day 1) 05/09/10: Application sent.

(Day 129) 09/14/10: ROC Approved!

(Day 135) 09/20/10: 10 years GC received.

Naturalization Journey

(Day 1) 10/02/11: Application sent.

(Day 122) 01/31/12: Interview. PASSED!

(Day 125) 02/03/12: Oath Ceremony. Done!

End of our Journey:

Daughter and I became U.S. Citizens on 02/03/2012.

(Day 1) 02/09/12: Applied for U.S. Passport & Passport card.

(Day 16) 02/24/12: Passport received.

(Day 19) 02/27/12: Passport Card received.

(Day 24) 03/03/12: Got CoN back.

N-600 for Daughter

(Day 1) 02/04/12: Application sent.

(Day 117) 05/30/12: Picked up Certificate of Citizenship at USCIS local office Chicago.

okay, wow... Wishful thinking I guess.... I think we are exempt from biometrics. I just received notification that I am in line for interview scheduling.

I second this, yeah good luck guys. I also like the way our board is slowly turning red. Soon enough we all can breath a sigh of relief .

05/01/07: NOA1 Date.....no hard copy

08/06/07: Fiance called USCIS for info aboout NOA1 hard copy

08/07/07: Touch

08/21/07: Touch due to phone call was told that our case has been assigned

08/27/07: Touch

09/24/07: NVC received Petition

09/26/07: Petition left NVC

10/02/07: Kingston Embassy received Petition

10/04/07: sent off DS-230 part 1 (sent via courier service)

10/09/07: Packet 3 received

10/09/07: Drop off DS-230 part 1 (in person)

12/03/07: Medical

12/18/07: INTERVIEW DATE!!!!!!!!!!

01/04/08: VISA IN HAND!!!!!!!!

01/11/08: Arrived in the USA

03/23/08: WEDDING DATE

09/19/08: AOS approved

09/25/08: GC in hand

Out of curiosity... where was your oath "mari&Ryan" ?

At Kluczynski Federal Building or elsewhere?

Also, since your oath was only few days after interview, did the IO informed you instantly about the oath date?

Someone else in Chicago also had oath only 4 days after interview.

My interview is on Tuesday like yours, so I would love to know what to expect...

Hey Maad,

Both interview and Oath ceremony were at USCIS 101 Congress Parkway. Chicago, IL 60605. On the 3rd floor.

Yep, once IO gave me the approval he told me to wait outside in the waiting room to get the letter for the Oath ceremony scheduled that Friday (3 days after the interview). I waited about 45 min to receive the letter along to many others that passed that morning. I did not change my name, so I don’t know if it has something to do with where and when the oath takes place.

If your interview is at the same building late in the morning, noon or afternoon be prepared to wait for a little bit, I did not have to wait that long because my interview was scheduled at 8 am . The place is huge and it gets packed in there. I saw people carrying drinks, food, cell phones, and laptops. I did not take anything of those though, just my docs and something to read.

Thank you very much for the explanation.

That's kind of new. The oath in Chicago usually was hold in the federal courtroom in Kluczynski Fed Build. I know because two of my friends were there. But wait time was about 2 months for both of them.

Geee... now I can hardly wait until tomorrow... getting too anxious hour by hour...

Getting ready to be at ceremony this morning. It should be a lovely day for her.

She is changing her last name and now we have to go and meet with every officials to get that changed. Maybe that is more work.

Anyone with list of place to change name first.
