Believe me i know exactly what your going thru but its even harder at the end of it when u know ur case is fine because the CO tells you it is and that they will issue the visa but they need to do the namechecks and then ur on hold for God only knows how long.. at least your getting a foot in the door prior to the interview... so when you do have the interview maybe you wont be like us and waiting and waiting... for that phone call that his visa has finally been issued....

Be strong and you will get through this. You have the visa journey family and we are here to help and support you. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Look through the forums for possible interview questions. PM people if you need to get private help.

Lean on your husband. Let him support you through this difficult time. Practice interview questions with him. You need to know all about him. All you need to get through your interview is a good memory.

my lifes always the hard way.............:/

Hey! I thought I was the only one who thought like that. I have had so much roadblock since we married in March and you would not begin to believe. For some people it seems things just fall into place but for me I struggle. *Sigh*

Back to the topic: you can buy a printer at Wal-Mart for about $30 over here where I live (not sure about your area) and check online too. You really need to supply as much as evidence as possible to prove your relationship. Do not get upset or depressed just do what you have to do and pray hard and keep pushing. In the end it will all be worthwhile. Good luck to you! Also, know you are not alone in struggling.

It is rare, but it happens - The USCitizen Petitioner is sent a letter about a case file transfer to a local office,

an interview is held with you at the local office,

then the casefile is sent back to USCIS for further review/adjudication.

USUALLY, you'll receive a notice of case transfer first.

In one aspect, this is a good thing, as you absolutely know that a USCIS adjudicator has gotten to yer casefile, it's yer turn in the queue.

All other aspects of this extra process sucks, though.

Good Luck ! A local interview is the 'Kiss Of Death', IMO, no more 'go fast' on yer casefile.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

see it positive, at least they give you a chance to show them more proof! we got denied after 5 1/2 months without a rfe or a chance at all to proof it´s a bona fide marriage!!!

it´s stressful on all of us! try to stay busy that gives you less time to think about the situation and how lonely you are without him...

on the other side, I´ve seen relationships/mariages break apart pretty fast when it got a little harder. so maybe it´s a good test for the relationship if you have to fight to be together...

good luck for your interview!!! take all your proof with you and you´ll be fine!

do you still have his boarding passes when he came to visit you and also let him email you a copy/scan of his passport with the stamps in it if you don´t already have it.

Hi just wanted to let you know that I had an I-130 interview in which she just looked at my pictures and asked me a few questions about our relationship. I did/do not still understand fully why I had to go to one of those besides possibly he was married once before me. Not sure. well however I am going to post a link in which others will state how the interviews went.

http://immigrate2us.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?46-I-130

You may be able to go to I-130 standard interview thread and my story is in there as well as others towards the last few pages. Or you may be able to just scroll down the page to find some answers. Good luck.

Oh yea, you may find people on this i-130 standard interview forum which states they have to file a i-601...not everyone has to file it. I didnt and my husband was approved in the end.

What evidence did you give them when you file I-130? Marriage Certificate?

We sent in affidavits, photos, and emails.. We didn't join VJ until after sending the I-130 so we didnt know how important it was to send in extra things. And that may have been another reason we had to have a I-130 interview. Just be prepared with every little thing that they may think of.

Hi Amanda! I sent a letter to the Immigration Office in Milwaukee indicating that your husband is presently residing in Turkey. I believe they made a mistake scheduling that interview for both of you. This petition (Form I-130) should be aproved by mail just with the documents that we submitted.

Let me know if you receive any letter.

Thank you and good luck!

so - the letter had both of your names on it, or they wanted to see the foreign spouse?

If that's indeed the case -

IMO - that's a goof up from the attorney -the fella that filled out the forms for the I-130 submittal.

Somethings weird, but - you know what? You can get that fixed.

Call UP USCIS, and get a Human, a Tier 1 CSR.

Ask for a Tier 2 Human, an ISO.

(Here's the differences, btw -> http://www.dhs.gov/files/publications/gc_1305658440339.shtm )

Once you have an ISO - tell him/her that yer foreign spouse is not in the USA, and that the set up for the interview to interview both of you (or the foreign spouse) at a local USCIS office is a mistake - the adjudicator reviewing the casefile 'read it wrong' and made a big mistake - this is not an adjustment of status case, it's an immigrant visa case - the foreign spouse resides outside of the country. THEN -

--ask the ISO to put in a request for an 'eyeball review' of the casefile, to review all again and

--ask the ISO to put in a casefile movement order, retrieving the casefile from it's current movement to the local USCIS office, back to the Service Center that had yer casefile earlier.

Good Luck ! Let us know how it goes !

(FWIW, I'm never a fan of relying on postal notifications, as it really slows things down to a crawl. Use the telephone, call, get an ISO in real time, get it sorted in real time. Any lawyer mentioning [at this stage] to wait on postal notification is really a bit off )
