Hi guys my fiances interview is in like 4 days in Kabul Afghanistan and I was wondering will my fiance be interviewed by an American or Afghan? I thought Americans interview you but I read somewhere that they don't and some one who speaks your language will interview you, is this correct?? and guys please pray for me.. The interviewing VO should be an American with an interpreter if needed. Some Visa Officers have knowledge of the local language but I think they will normally employ an interpreter if the beneficiary does not speak English.

I am sorry to say but you should talk with your fiancee because i think u.s embassy close for couple of days in kabul because in kabul there is terrorist attack at u.s embassy

My wife's interview was here in the U.S., and we were told we had to bring an interpreter with us if she needed one. (She didn't, and we didn't bring one.) That may just be true for U.S. interviews. Look at the interview letter...if it says "bring an interpreter", then bring one. Chances are the Embassy will provide one if needed, but if the letter tells you to bring one do so.

And yes, the Embassy in Kabul can be "dynamic" due to terrorist activity. Your fiance should check in advance and make sure they are open.

what? terrorist attack?? I didnt know that.. My fiance speaks English fluently. I hope it will be open, Omg I didnt know that. where did you guys hear that??

I live in California and its only 10 AM Saturday Sept. 13, I haven't watched news yet. I just read it, I hope it will be over soon, I don't want anymore delays, i had a interview appointment change already I don't want another one. My fiance lives in Mazar-I-Sharif so he is safe. Anyways thank you guys for the quick replays. God bring peace to all the countries.
