Consulate Review: New Delhi, India
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : February 10, 2012
Embassy Review : Me and my Fiancee went together to Delhi embassy. We reached there at 07:30 AM and our interview time was 08:00 AM. There was very big line for the Interview and we were together in the line.
We entered together at 08:10 inside the embassy. on the first window I went for the fingerprints and there was Japanese lady and she took my fingerprints.
After waiting around 1 hr. they called my number at the Window number 29. We went to the Window together there was Indian lady sitting and she had our approved petition from USCIS. She asked me who are you I said I am the beneficiary and she asked me who is she and I said she is my fiancee. After that she did not asked any question and she told me go and pay your visa fee at window 23 and come back here. So we went to the window 23 to pay the visa fee but they did not took our fee draft because the counselor rate was changed two days before the interview.
the Indian guy told me pay the correct fee If you have $$ then pay in cash. I said we don't have $$ and then he said if you have debit card then go outside the Embassy withdrawal the money and come back here again and he said come back soon.
So we came together outside the embassy for withdrawal the money from my account. I took more then 1hr to go and come back. We went together again to pay the visa fee then guy told me you can pay your draft now. I yelled at him and I said now what happened why you need a draft now but he did not gave clear answer. I gave him draft and rest of the money he gave me back in cash.
After this we went together at window 29 again the CO said why you took so long time and I said we are new in here and we don't know where to go that's why. After that she told me sit we will call you again for the final interview.
30 minutes after they called us and I was the last applicant in the embassy. Me and my fiancee went together for the final interview and there was a Chinese lady. We said good morning and she replied to me and my fiancee. She asked me the following question:-
1. How you both meet ?
2. How long do you know each other ?
3. How this relationship worked out ?
4. How often do you communicate ?
5. When you meet first time ?
6. What you do for living ?
7. Where your parents live ?

6. Who is the cosponsor and how your fiancee know him ?

After that she asked question to my U.S fiancee:-
1. The cosponsor is too old how you know him ?
2. How you went to U.S ?
3. What your parents do ?
4. Where do you live in U.S ?

After this she asked me again question

1. Where you intend to live in U.S ?
2. What type of work you do ?
3. Why you don't want to marry in India ?

We gave all the answers of her questions very politely and I think she was satisfied with our answers.
The CO did not asked to see any proof of relationship nothing.
After this I noticed one American was standing behind her and he was listening our conversation. The interviewer lady turned off the window and speaker and start talking with the American guy.
Then american guy left she started writing something in computer for long time then she told me Sir I need a little information from you your name is not mentioned on your birth certificate and We need birth certificate affidavit from you. I said I also submitted my school certificate and my name is mentioned on that. She said no we need Affidavit and then she gave me 221g white form for submit the affidavit at VFS and she also gave me my passport back.

Then we left the window. then I noticed they did not took my medical records. My fiancee started crying because the whole process was mess.

The very next day I submitted my birth certificate Affidavit and I asked to VFS guy they did not took my medical records. He said you can submit with Affidavit but you need to write a letter on a paper to let the embassy know that why you are sending medical records.

We are so depressed and don't know what to do next ? Please give us any suggestion what we should do now ? My fiancee is going back to U.S on 21st feb. Her parents are waiting for me and the whole process is hell.
Please give me any suggestion and our petition is going to expire on 28th of feb.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
