My wife just called worrying about rumors of immigration pause for 2 years!

My wife and her family heard the news from different sources.

Sounds total BS to me, but want to ping the experts here to make sure! Any truth to this?

06/14/2011 - NOA1

10/21/2011 - I-130 approved (NOA2)

11/19/2011 - NVC recevied case

11/21/2011 - Called NVC for AOS bill and DS-3032

11/21/2011 - Paid AOS Bill

11/21/2011 - EP request and DS-3032 to NVC

11/23/2011 - EP came and DS-3032 accepted

11/23/2011 - Submit I-864

11/28/2011 - Paid IV Bill

11/29/2011 - Submit DS-230

12/05/2011 - Case completed

12/08/2011 - Interview date set

12/11/2011 - Medical exam

01/11/2011 - Document intake day

01/12/2012 - Interview - Approved

03/09/2012 - POE - LAX

Were they talking about all the illegal immigrants that Obama is having USCIS go and make legal? if so its probably going to slow things down a lot soon yes.

But I have heard nothing of a complete pause for 2 years on immigration.

Aug 18, 2011: NVC process begins
Oct 6, 2011: NVC process completed
Nov 4, 2011: Interview date assigned
Dec 2, 2011: Interview at Consulate (Result: AP - No reason given on 221g)
Feb 7, 2012: Passport requested by Consulate
(...Husband needed passport for personal reasons during this time...)
Apr 9, 2012: Passport mailed to Consulate
Apr 25, 2012: Visa issued
May 1, 2012: Visa in hand
May 31, 2012: POE at Montreal's Trudeau Airport
Early July: Physical Green Card received in mail. Yes, it's green!

March 13, 2014: ROC filed (went to VSC)

March 17, 2014: NOA

April 22, 2014: Biometrics appointment

December 9, 2014: Case inquiry initiated

December 11, 2014: Response: "The processing of your case has been delayed. A check of our records establishes that your case is not yet ready for decision, as the required security checks remain pending."

March 14, 2014: Received NOA that approval had been given on March 10; expect new GC within 60 days.

10/07/09: Received DS-3032 and AOS email

10/09/09: Sent DS-3032 email to optin electronic filing

10/15/09: Paid both AOS & IV fees

10/16/09: Received email electronic filing accepted

10/18/09: Sent AOS via email

10/23/09: Received email that AOS was accepted and waiting for IV

10/27/09: Sent IV via email

11/10/09: Signon to payment failure

11/19/09: Received email for interview - December 14th

12/14/09: Approved for Visa

12/16/09: Received Visa

There is no pause. Immigration cases are being processed.

The rumor about a pause may be traceable to Retrogression. More visa applicants were eligible for consular processing than available visas. It doesn't make sense to conduct interview for people when visas are not available. So the number of applicants was pared off by reducing the number eligible for consular processing by moving the Priority Dates back. The dates were moved back about 2 years several categories. This is what some have mistakenly label a "pause."

Sorry, is some translation problem -

it covers retrogression, for many family-based visas

and does not apply to IR-1/2/3/5/CR-1/2/K-1/2/3/4 visas, where the petition was filed by a USCitizen.

I can see where the translation problem might occur, however.
