Mahmoud Ahmadinejad lashes out at Israel in Quds Day speech

Iran's president says creation of a Palestinian state would not satisfy those intent on 'annihilating' Israel and again characterizes the Holocaust as a 'lie.'

Reporting from Tehran— Establishment of an independent Palestinian state would not stop efforts to wipe out Israel, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Friday.

Palestinians are expected to present a petition to the United Nations General Assembly next month for full U.N. membership, which would confer international recognition of an independent Palestinian state. The United States is seeking to block any action on the bid.

Creation of a Palestinian state would not satisfy those intent on "annihilating" Israel, Ahmadinejad said, speaking at Iran's annual Quds Day rally in support of the Palestinian cause.

"Do not think that your existence will be recognized with the recognition of the Palestinian state," the Iranian president said, addressing Israel. "You have no place in our region and among our nations, and you will not be able to continue your ignominious life on even a small part of the Palestinian territories."

Ahmadinejad also renewed his previous characterizations of the World War II Holocaust as a "lie."

Tens of thousands of Iranians marched Friday in Tehran in Quds Day events; some observers said the crowds were smaller than those of last year. Authorities provided free bus and subway rides for attendees.

We hear such pronouncements continuously. How we have no right to exist and are a pariah state.

The haters never cease to hate. In every generation they rise up against us. B'chol dor va'dor omdim aleinu l'chaloteinu.

He was ranked 132nd out of 400,000 participants in national entrance exams.

I'm having trouble with my rankings.

I've got #6 pick in one league that drafts tomorrow, and #12 in another that drafts on Tuesday.

I'm thinking Ray Rice as my first round #6 pick tomorrow. I wish we had keepers :crying: Last year I had Adrian Peterson AND Jamaal Charles AND Peyton Manning. No chance of that this year :crying: :crying: though Manning is going to be available in later rounds.

I'm studying my depth charts tonight. It feels like cramming for exams in college again :P

More absurdity from Sofiyya.

In her defense this news is roughly as earth-shaking as AQ's #2 being found and killed in Pakistan.

What were you doing?

Wasn't baiting, but I wouldn't expect you to grasp that.

More like that would be news. Thanks.

The Lions looked solid tonight against the Patsies, they're 3-0 in the pre-season. Might be something to think about when looking for some breakout players.

I know. I'm thinking both Stafford as backup QB and Jahvid Best as a 3rd RB. I had Best in his rookie year last year when the first 2 games of the season he was awesome. Then he got turf toe and was lousy the rest of the year. He has a lot of potential.

The Bears lost tonight 14-13 to the Titans. Marion Barber got injured, not sure yet how badly. Hasselbeck looked pretty good, I think he'll work out better for Tennessee than Vince Young did.

Stafford, if he stays healthy and Best are going to cause some problems. Lions' D-line looked tough, Suh played well but he lost his temper, he needs to pick his spots and quit being such a hothead.
