I'm currently in the US and as most would know there's pretty bad weather all around at the moment with Hurrican Irene. My orignal flight out of NY is for the 27th, but now there's a real chance that I'll need to book another date as I'm concerned about flying in these conditions. If I go over the 90 day limit will I be able to explain about the Hurricane at my interview?

I'm really worried that this could make things difficult for my fiancee and I, but I also would like to make it home safely to begin with.

If it is due to extreme weather conditions, it wont. I will find the official page where USCIS says that and I'll post it in a minute.

Book through LA instead.

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

Here's an official link about visa waiver program, but I assume the same rules apply for any type of visa, if the departure is delayed due to events outside of the visitor's control.

https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/1024/~/how-to-extend-my-visa-waiver-program-stay-in-the-u.s.-if-there-is-an-emergency

Make sure you save all the documents related to your flight cancellations, tickets, emails from the companies and make an effort to re-schedule your flight ASAP. My brother in law just received a message from the company saying that he could reschedule his flight from NY if he wishes to, so I assume they are sending those to everybody leaving the area on Saturday/Sunday.

if your flight is not canceled or delayed though, you should leave. There is no reason to worry about the flying in bad weather as no company would take a chance and fly in risky weather conditions.

Good luck!

One or two days over will not matter, but if you take a month to re-book, then you will probably have a problem with your VWP. You should know by now if your flight for tomorrow is cancelled, since airlines have started cancelling flights since yesterday.

You can leave via another airport, if the airline fly's it will be OK. or follow uscis guides on reschedule/ extension by weather.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

What if my flight isn't cancelled but the weather warnings remain extreme? I have a history of anxiety attacks (most recent was 2010) and I can prove it with a medical letter. Would they accept that?

I am not really understanding your concern or problem, due to the weather some flights will be cancelled, the airlines will re-book you on another flight out within 72 hours. This 72 hours should have no ill effect on your pending visa, nor should it affect your VWP, since it can be explained.

If you are trying to over-stay longer than the 72 hours, then you will be your own judge and jury with immigration on this one.
