should i wait for nvc to contact me for Affidavit of Support for my mother?

i already paid that 88$ and register for agent with nvc

thanks

If the AOS fee is appearing as PAID in the payment portal, then you don't need to wait. Just print off the 'document cover sheet' from the payment portal, attach that as the first page in the AOS package, and mail it off!

Hi,

Will you please let me know what should I do after I paid both fee for AOS and IV and printed the barcode. They already accepted the choice of agent via email.

What should be my next step. Please I have paid both fees almost a month and half ago. Do I have to fill affidavit of support or which form I have to fill and send them.

I will appreciate your help.

Thanks

If your fees are appearing as PAID, then you can send the packages. Gather the documents and forms needed for the AOS and IV packages and mail them. And if you need to know what to include, please read the guides.

2- MY dad's death certificate original.

3- do I need police certificate right now?.

4-do I need my mom's marriage certificate ( my mom do not have that the registration building was burnt almost 25 years back and there is no record they have.)

5-do I need pictures to send right now or not.

Please let me know what am I missing and what else I do need more.

Now with I-864.

Do I need just tax return and W-2s?.

I am not making enough money as a student but my our total household income is around 60 thousand because my husband has a good job.

So do I make him co sponsor or how its gonna work, do I have to fill I-864ez form as well.

Before I can help you, is this for an IR-5 visa? Are you the petitioner? Gotta clear up a few things so I can understand everything and answer correctly.

Ok, now that I know you're the petitioner and your mom is the beneficiary, here are my answers:

Yes, you'll need your mom's marriage certificate as that's needed in the IV package, along with her birth certificate and death certificate for her deceased husband. She'll have to contact someone about how she would go about getting a marriage certificate. If there's no possible way, I would suggest explaining it in the cover letter, as well as sending in correspondence to your replies saying there's no way to get her marriage certificate.

And yes, your mom needs to get a police certificate of every country she's lived in since she was 16.

And yes, she needs to include two pictures of herself, 2" x 2".

The documents needed for the IV package can be found here: http://travel.state..../info_3195.html

And since this is for an IR-5, don't forget, you need to include YOUR birth certificate and marriage certificate.

So, to sum up, what's needed in the IV package for your mom:

-bar coded cover sheet of IV bill

-cover letter (optional, but recommended)

-DS-230, completed and only part 1 signed

-two passport pictures (with your mom's name, birthdate, and case number written on the back of both)

-mom's original/certified copy of birth certificate

-mom's marriage certificate

-original/certified copy of death certificate of her husband

-copy of bio-data page of mom's passport

-mom's original police certificate(s)

-original/certified copy of your birth certificate

-original/certified copy of your marriage certificate

For the I-864, if you can, I'd suggest getting tax transcripts from the IRS. They're free and they arrive within a week or two of ordering. NVC much prefers these over 1040s, W2s, and any other schedules you might have.

If your husband is making over $60k, then you'll be good to go with supporting your mother. You have to fill out an I-864 and then your husband will fill out an I-864a. Neither of you are allowed to fill out the I-864EZ as you have to meet certain criteria, one of them being the petitioner is the sole sponsor. But since you'll be using your husband's income, this won't work.

So, here's a recap for your AOS package and what's needed:

-bar coded cover sheet from the payment portal for the AOS bill

-cover letter (optional, but recommended)

-I-864, completed and signed by you

-I-864a, completed and signed by your husband

-tax information of yours

-tax information of your husband's

-employment letter of your husband's (optional, but recommended)

-pay stubs of your husband's (optional, but recommended)

-proof of husband's US citizenship or residency (US birth certificate, US passport, US naturalization certificate, US green card)

-you and your husband's marriage certificate

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Hi Saylin,

First I would like to say you thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Now I have another question for ya. I sent the both package in two different envelops which they received on Feb.13, and today I have got an email that they have not found the affidavit of support form and they said send us original marriage certificate. I can send them Marriage certificate but what should do about the all those form and proves I have sent them. Tracking number shows that package has been delivered.

Please let me know what to do.

I am freaking out over that. Should I send them prove of tracking or what should I do?.

I will appreciate your reply.

Thanks

Bushra

Don't worry, what you received is called a "false checklist". As soon as NVC receives a package, they frequently issue a false checklist for the other package. Your package is at NVC, and they'll get to it soon, don't stress about it at all!

I think, you are right. So what I should I do?. should I call them or reply to that email what they sent me with tracking number of those packages.

And I have not sent the original marriage certificate, what do you think, where can I go to neuterize my marriage certificate so I can send them to neuterized copies.

I have only one certificate, I do not want to send them original. Please let me know so I can post or email nerterized copies fast.

Thanks once again dear.

You don't need to reply to the false checklist email. They'll get to your other package and review it.

And neuterize? That's not a word. I think you mean CERTIFIED. And I don't know where you'd do that in your country. Usually it's the issuing office. Did you get married in the US or in the foreign country?
