Does anyone out there know how much it costs to file a fiance visa? I have found $340 in some places, then also $350 and even as high as $500. I am about to send in fiance visa and want to make sure that i have the right amount.

Thanks.

Are you talking about filing the I-129F petition, or having an approved petition and filing the application for the actual visa at the foreign consulate? These are 2 different things, and sometimes people mix them all up.

You do not need to use hearsay. The fee is listed in the instructions for the I-129F. You should make sure to read the K-1 guide here on VJ, and read the instructions for all the forms that are required. The initial petition is $340. The fee to apply for the visa after an approved petition will be $350.

If you're looking for the total cost, don't forget to tack on that $1000 fee for AOS after you get married (along with the $340 petition and $350 to the consulate.)

They sure don't make this cheap :(

Hi! The total cost for a K1 visa is about $1805 or more see this link: http://www.visajourney.com/content/compare

There is a $340 filing fee for the I-129F petition

Another $350 for the visa paid to the US embassy

Also it is almost $1100 to Adjust status after you get married within the 90 days. This must be done.

There is also all the medical fees, translations, photographs taken, police certificates aquired, shipping of documents back and forth, etc...

Good luck! It costs a LOT of money to bring a fiance over, but they are worth it!

:)

Do not file anything until you have read the instructions which will tell you the correct amount. I am serioulsy concerned that you are "about to file the petition" and do not know the fee. Have you attached all the documentation required to the I-129f? I fail to see how you could possibly have done all that and missed the part where they tell you the fee.

The petition fee is what I presume you are talking about and it is only the first of many fees you will pay for a finacee visa not to mention considerable additional costs.

Petition $340, medical exam (???), vaccinations (???)visa $350, AOS $1070, RoC $585, Citizenship... plus translations (if any), passport photos, passports, airfare, etc. etc.
