Furthermore, I'd love to live in a world where everything is so cut and dry like you seem to think, Steven....'shut down the camps'...yeah that's a good solution

Yes, shut them down and then open a camp that has international oversight (EU or UN). It's what they've already recommended and would help to show the world community that we are committed to treating these detainees with dignity and using due process.

Hell, why not go all the way? Let's ask to be admitted to the EU, have one government run everything, eat snails, add a "u" to half of our words, and all sing Kumbaya.

In case you've forgotten, the US is a sovereign nation.... I don't give a f##k what others think of us.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

I hate to use the comparison, but most of the world's worst regimes were 'sovereign nations' who didn't care what the world thought of them.

I'm surprised noone has quoted Michael Savage. This guy makes a living by being an arsehole.

On that "celebrities aren't qualified to render political opinions" B/S from the other week - you might well wonder what qualifications a Botanist/Anthropologist has to do likewise ;)

The fact that Michael Weiner has written so many books on herbal medicine and lives in San Francisco has me believe that "Michael Savage" is pure invention

It wouldn't be the first time. Especially when you consider that, like most of these commentators, the more controversial they are the more books they sell.

I wonder if he relaxes after a long days of shouting tirades (and most days he sounds like he's on the verge of a heart attack) by fixing something from the Antioxidant cookbook

Must be - something to lower his blood pressure I guess. That or he's trying to perfect some sort of herbal viagra.

I'm sure he's a man who appreciates the properties of a blueberry and ginger smoothie

He'd like Prince Charles - he's apparently famous for talking to plants.

After all, plants and vegetables aren't "liberal" ;)
