NVC Received File On Aug 1st Not NVC# yet

i just got the below e-mail from NVC in regards to my inquiry

" Dear Sir/Madam: Please be advised that the National Visa Center (NVC) has received your inquiry and the attached I-797 Notice of Action - Approval Notice.Unfortunately, we do not have record of receiving your approved petitionfrom U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. The NVC will contactUSCIS on your behalf for information on the location of this petition. Sincerely,MorganNational Visa Center Written Inquiry Unit Serco Inc., Support Contractor NVCResearch@state.gov"

I tried to call NVC and i get a busy tone.I guess the lines are jammed. When i called twice this morning they still said that the file was received on August 1st and is in the building

Anyone has received the same reply form NVC?

What shoul I do?

We all got it and also got the next email where they state that the case in en route from USCIS to NVC. That time we didn't have the information that case was with NVC, so we were concerned.

The average period of getting case number is around 30 days, so be patient and keep trying NVC every day - best time to call is around 9 PM.

USA

01/08/13 - Approved and GC is order for production on 1/8/14

09/12/13 - Case transferred to CSC. NOA2 received on 09/18/13

08/30/13 - Biometrics Done - No walk ins allowed at this LSC (received on 8/16/13).

08/05/13 - NOA1 (received on 08/10/13)

08/01/13 - Mailed I-751 (received on 8/2/13 - check cashed on 8/5/13)

12/28/11 - Received SSN (applied on 12/20/11, as we didn't get based on DS-230 options)
11/28/11 - Received Green Card (Expires on 10/30/13) - Welcome Letter on 11/17/11
10/30/11 - POE - Houston, TX

Chennai Consulate (40 days)
10/28/11 - Received Visa papers and Passport at VFS
10/25/11 - Interview Cleared Successfully (Spouse was not allowed in)

NVC: (90 days from NOA2 to Consulate)
08/31/11 - Case Completed (Interview 10/25/11) - Received at Chennai on 09/19/11
07/22/11 - NVC Case Number

USCIS: (92 days)

6/21/11 - NOA2 (NOA1 on 3/25/11) - took a month to get to NVC
3/21/11 - I-130 sent to USCIS Lockbox, Chicago.

I sent NVC an email regarding the status of my application. They told me that they have recently received my application (didnt mention when) and i will hear from them within 6-8 weeks!!! Why does it take them so much time?

Not true!!! Just keep calling or emailing them. It took a 10 days to receive my NVC# after they received it. I emailed them about 20 times!!!! I was approved on JUNE 23 and they received it on Aug 8!! :angry:

It took you 10 days to get your case #? Wow you are lucky...some of us are on our 22nd day and/or 16th business day and nothing yet

Well I guess it made up for the 46days it took them to receive the case from California :bonk:

This you can be sure of from people who are very conservative in their time estaimates. Call tomorrow and you will have it - congrats.
