My fiance just sent me a Scanned Statement of Earnings and leave, where it shows his annual salary, deductions and almost everything.

would that be ok for presenting it for the interview, as proof of income?? do I need something else?

That should do. I would also get last 3 years of tax transcripts (free, just go online to IRS)

It was probably overkill, but I used to be an auditor and am always asking annoying "what if" questions. The result is usually that I provide A LOT of documentation; probably too much. With that said, though, no RFEs or rejections so far. :) I provided Ann with tax transcripts for the last three years, my last six paystubs, and a letter from my firm confirming the length of employment, annual salary, and position/title.

We have another issue, he was living here with me until july 2009, and was w/just temp jobs until july 2010 and he says his tax transcripts doesn't reach the level for the last year. But now hes working on DOL and making somewhat 40k a year... should I present tax transcripts despite it doesn't reach the poverty level for 4 (me, my son, he, his daughter)?

Current income is what matters.

So use that current statement - and I'm not sure if it would help - but get a letter from his employer stating that he works there, salary, etc. so you can see that it's current.

We provided tax transcripts too, even though my previous income didn't count for anything. Better to have too much than not enough. Tax transcripts are free.

If he was freelancing and only now has a permanent job, I would think is best to have last 3-4 years of Tax transcripts. In case of questioning he could then much easily explain the discrepancies in salaries. Best case scenario: no one asks for them, worst case they ask and you don't have them, thus additional delay.

They are free but take a few days to get them.

The key is to have things ready (as much as reasonable possible) in case something is asked, especially in consulates that don't make things easier. I've read in other postings that the Lima consulate is not the easiest one (at least relative to some others)

Secondary, in some consulates it seems to be customary to request them, even when it is not listed.

Well I really don't know how things are here in the USEM, but our case seems pretty easy, we've been together almost five years, two of them living here in Lima together, child in common... and also he's Federal Worker, so I don't know if that will help....

As far as the income situation goes, I had a similar problem... I went from being a full-time student to working so my tax transcripts weren't as high as the income threshold, but I did have documentation from my employer with my yearly salary and paystubs and we had no problem.

We also had no problem in the Lima Embassy. It was an easy interview. Good luck!

That should be fine.
